TKYU Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Would it be wise to include poster presentations in my SOP even though they were not presented at renowned conferences? Any advice would be appreciated!
iphi Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Nope, that sort of thing belongs on your CV. Even if they don't ask for one you should send it or upload it under 'other materials' on the application site.

TakeruK Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 You can mention poster presentations if you are already using a sentence to talk about other presentations or outcomes. For example, if you are writing about the outcomes of a project and you say something like "I gave an oral presentation about this work at Student Meeting X", you can then append something like "and a poster presentation at Regional Conference Y". Or if you are using some space to discuss presentation experience, you can just mention that you have presented posters. But you can also not include this information and just leave it in the CV. lewin, EdNeuroGrl and ihatechoosingusernames 3

Yes, sorry, I agree with this, but as for explicit mentions just for the sake of them... skip that and put it in your CV instead.
EdNeuroGrl Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 My philosophy is that IF it serves a point, then yes include it in the SoP. I tried to avoid listing anything that was on my CV unless I had a very immediate purpose for mentioning it.
