I know there is another thread for this- but it's mostly talking about Ed.S/specialist, so I thought I would see if anyone had interest in talking school psych Ph.D. My applications are all in! I'm getting antsy waiting and would love to discuss concerns, interviews, etc. with other applicants.

Where did everyone apply? Have you heard anything yet? What are your research interests?

Current student here! Let me know if I can help. I think Loyola Chicago sends out interviews around this time. Not sure about other programs, that's the earliest one I know! Maybe UCSB as well.

@iphi thank you! I've been a little obsessive about everything and looked up the dates they sent out last year. It looks like the first one could be December 14-16 from a school in the midwest. I'm sure if I get an interview, I will have a million questions.

@Anxiousapplicant01 congratulations! I bet you feel great having an invite! Takes a little of the anxiety away! I'm wishing now I would have applied somewhere that sends out earlier invites, just for the sake of my sanity.

I wouldn't worry too much. This is such a busy time of year for staff and students that invitations sent out before Jan 4 will be quite rare!

I applied to 11 schools! Nova Southeastern, University of Florida, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, Florida State, UCSB, Berkeley, Syracuse University, Houston, Utah, and Arizona! Good luck to everyone.

I'm nervously awaiting Tulane U school psych and the University of New Orleans Applied Developmental Psych!!! How are y'all preparing for potential interviews?

Posted

@Nolagirl I applied to Tulane, also! I only have one interview (so far- fingers crossed), but I'm reading the research overviews of all of the professors and maybe a paper or two, and reviewing the emails we exchanged (POI and I). I go over potential questions in my head, and talk through difficult ones with my coworkers. Did you just apply to those two? Are you preparing?

I just applied to these two. I'm doing a lot of the same to prepare. I'm hoping that Tulane will notify us soon for interviews!! I guess with these things it's hard to tell. I noticed in last year's results that someone received an email to interview on 12/19, so maybe we could hear something this week? Let's hope!

Good luck, everyone! Every time I get a notification in this feed, I get nervous that someone has heard from Tulane!

@outsidegirl4 I did not apply there. I think MSU is a really good school though

@Melina91 I will be there! Did you get the invite from South Carolina? If so, do you mind saying if you received the email from the department or from your POI?

I have 4 interviews so far! I'm super excited about that especially because this is my second time applying.

Good Luck to everyone!

I applied to Maryland, Tennesse, Wisconsin - Madison, Wisconsin - Milwaukee, UMass - Amherst, Duquesne, Indiana, and Syracuse.

I got interviews at Maryland, Tennesse and Wisconsin - Madison. I was informed that UMass is not taking students for the 2016-2017 year. So still waiting to hear back from four more schools. This is all so exciting but also a little bit (completely and totally) terrifying! If anyone wants to talk about applications/interviews/programs please feel free to message me.

Good luck to everyone!!

I applied to Northeastern University, University of Connecticut, University of South Carolina, Syracuse University, and North Carolina State University.

I got interviews at the first three and am still awaiting a response from Syracuse and NCSU.

I'm a bit nervous that I applied to so many states in the north because I realize I hate the cold, and of course I'm nervous about interviews, so any advice from anyone in any of these programs will be super helpful.

Good luck to everyone!

Hello! Does anyone know why Lehigh's time to completion seems to be significantly longer than at many other schools? The handbook shows the program as a five year sequence but the data on their website indicate that since 2008, 50% of students took more than 7 years to finish their degrees, and the yearly means seem overall quite high...

Here's where I'm getting this info from:

https://coe.lehigh.edu/sites/coe.lehigh.edu/files/Admissions%2C%20Outcomes%2C%20and%20Other%20Data%20October%202014.pdf
