onceinalifetime Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I feel that I may have an implied rejection already. What I mean by this is that a program that began reviewing and making decisions on a rolling basis on Dec 1 has not sent me an interview invite yet, even though interviews are Jan 21/22 and Feb 5/6. I'd love to hear form successful applicants about how far in advance you received interview invites. Would also love to hear if anyone has any stories where they were surprised - thought you were definitely getting denied by a program but ended up getting an acceptance later. Are implied rejections a real thing, or are there just too many factors in play to really come to a solid conclusion about it?
med latte Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Too soon to jump to any conclusions. I've seen some on the results page report interview invites 2 weeks in advance. If your target program is doing interviews in early February, you're still in the clear. Also, some interview spots may open up in late January if/when any accepted applicants decline their offers. Hang in there. It ain't over 'til it's over!
Nolagirl Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I'm in the same boat with one of my programs! I feel like it isn't over until the school tells me it's over. There's no way to know what can happen! Best of luck!
scarvesandcardigans Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I agree with @Nolagirl. Some schools may have interviews and make decisions to accept students after those interview dates. And some schools have close notifications. That happened to a friend of mine from her top choice school. And some students might be sitting on acceptances that they will later decline, opening up other spots. There are a lot of possibilities. Sending good vibes for you! Good luck!
