CallmeIshmael Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I took the GRE last week and didn't encounter a disguised experimental section in the quant. or verbal. Just the standard 28 math questions and 30 verbal questions. Is the typical? I was anticipating a block of 60 questions at some point. And oh yes, I should mention, they did offer me the optional "research" section.
captiv8ed Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I had M and V and AW and then the experimental AW section.
a fragrant plant Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 AW came first; followed with the math and the verbal section. it asked me if i'd participate in a research/experimental section after i did my Verbal test. there was no experimental section in disguised.
pea-jay Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I havent taken the GRE since 1995 so I will be retaking it again later this month. That said, I got an experimental quantitative section on both my SAT attempts, the '95 GRE attempt and 2000 MCAT. What's the chance of that happening?
Kreid Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) My test was also AW, Q, V, and then an experimental Q section. The experimental section was clearly marked as such and voluntary. Edited November 3, 2009 by Kreid
a fragrant plant Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Today the research section was writing. I checked "exit" and didn't write a single word. I do not want to participate in the research. Why? I hope the GRE will be obsolete in the future.
