NataiaRuizVargas Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hi. I applied to WUSTL for a PhD in Biology. I didn't get invited to the interview. Some people tell me that it would help to visit the university so they can appreciate how interested I am in their program. Does anyone think that this can help?
3 rising_star Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I would not do this. If they wanted to meet with you in person, they would've invited you for an interview. You're in the lucky position of having already been told what you need to do to boost your chances of being accepted. I would take your potential advisor's advice on work on getting a higher GRE score so you have a better chance next time you apply. Queen of Kale and Eigen 2
0 Eigen Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Seconded. If they wanted you to visit, they would have invited you. Visiting without an invitation is more likely to come across poorly than help you in any way.
