In the course of answering one of my general questions, I said something about financial regulation for micorfinance - and she asked about whether it might limit access to finance- not exactly an argument,but it seemed like we came from different ideological positions and she did not seem totally satisfied with my answer... Otherwise it seemed pretty decent- Why BSG, What future plans, tell us about an example of contributing to the community and what you learned from it, what can you contribute to the intl cohort at BSG, name a book that has challenged you thinking. What about you questions? What did they say?

I am applying to condensed matter physics phd F16 and already had the skype interviews, some personal interviews with professors who are interested in my profile and a department interview with the head and admission committee. They will ask about your researches. But sadly, I haven't heard back since interviews in early Feb and I have already seen admission on cmp in the posts of gradcafe. sprag Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) Hey does anyone know the English language minimum requirement score (for IELTS) which will make you eligible to secure a place at BSG? The website says higher level score of 7 in each component and 7.5 overall. Buy what if someone gets an overall score of 7.5 or above but gets below 7 in one of the components? I am waiting for my IELTS results and worried about my writing score (I think I missed the word count in one essay). Does anyone know anything about a situation like this? DodoBirdBlergh Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Omg @sprag I a in the EXACT same situation, to the letter! I have no idea what to do now @inkblot, it'll be fine, that doesn't sound like much of an argument! They asked me questions that were nearly similar to yours. Why, what next, etc.

I was under the impression that it was sent to everyone - it was an email that stated that my application was under assessment.

But I never got a separate email for the interview, i.e., I haven't done an interview yet. I sent my application on the 22nd of January. My impression from how the general email was phrased was that it went to shortlisted applicants only, not everyone who applied. But I could be wrong.

zdidy92 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I just got back my results and Oxford said that since we all did so bad, they are shutting down the whole BSG out of disappointment. Maybe next year I guess....

I submitted my application on 19th Jan 2016. But I guess we shall learn about the outcome very soon. Fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone.
