Hi, I'm new here and I'm biting my nails like crazy. I was wondering if there was anyone else was applying to PhD or MAs through the IIE. I'm  a Fulbright nominee and the IIE applies for us, and so we have no contact with the department. Whatsoever. So, every time I see one of the programs I applied to showing up I freak out. Has anyone had the experience or is experiencing the same, so that we can all fret together??

:D Hello there, we are in the same position but the difference is that I am located in Egypt. I am in the same "Wonderful" position (Sarcastic tone) :D I asked the Fulbright for feedback regarding the universities and they told me we do not provide any kind of regular feedback. What's more interesting is that I asked a previous fulbrighter, he told me that they do not provide you with information regarding your acceptance or rejections. Just when they place you in a school, then you would know that you have been accepted in it! other than that No you don't get the chance to know anything :D:D:D P.S I am freaking out as well and I want to call the school so bad :(

Hello,I am a  Chilean Fulbright Nominee too (for Masters studies). I applied to 8 Master programs, 4 through the IIE and 4 on my own, and I have not received any news or reply at all. Anyway, there are not any recent posts in the results section of this website about these programs .

Additionally, I have noticed that thet results of the applications through IIE are available later in contrast to the rest of the applications.

Hey everyone, I'm also a Fulbright Nominee from Egypt, and I would like to join you guys in fretting our unknown destiny. Same applies to me, no school has reached out or even updated the application status on the website.

Well, I got my rejection from UChicago on Monday, and it was my top choice, so all I can say is that, at least in my case, rejections are informed. So be hopeful!

and you are welcomed to fret!!!

I think it really depends on the country's Fulbright Commission. In my case, the Chilean Commission emailed me my rejection on Monday from UChicago. It was dated Thursday 11th. It pretty much went like this: The dean of studies emailed the rejection letter to an email recipient set up by the IIE. This was later forwarded to the IIE head of my area and subsequently emailed to the Chilean Commission. I'm hoping that means that my other applications are still being either reviewed or are waitlisted or, fingers crossed, accepted and they are negotiating funding.

Hope this helps you relax.

I thought that you got all the replies from IEE at the same time. So, we will have to keep waiting

(Hola, cómo te llamas? Vas por Master o Doctorado?)

¡Hola! I am a Fulbright nominee from Spain and applied through the IIE as well. I am glad you posted this as I have not received any information regarding my applications (except for one rejection) and I was also starting to freak out with the results board. I was starting to think they were all implied rejections, but reading your posts It seems that our applications are taking longer than regular ones. Also, none of the other Spanish nominees have heard any news from the IIE either.  We just need to be extra-patient.

Me llamo Coni, voy por Doctorado en Literatura :)

I thought so too, but then they sent me my rejection from UChicago so I was confused. I assume they a)sent it because that's what they do, in which case @3zs's comment makes sense, or b)they knew it was my top choice so they didn't want me to fool myself, which I actually appreciate.

I will continue to binge eat and watch a lot of anime in the mean time. :P

(Yo voy por master en ciencias políticas, me llamo Edison btw)

It seems that this topic should be called "dealing with anxiety due to IIE "delay". My problem is that my top choices are the applications through IIE, so it is likely that I will get the other replies first :(

Hey! Another Fulbright PhD applicant from Chile. I have only received one reply from the IIE through Fulbright —a rejection from UW-M—, but according to the survey, several other programs to which I applied have already sent acceptances, waitlists and rejections :/.

@BellaBendrix Sure, no problem. Sorry I didn't reply before, but for my mental health I decided to ration my visits to gradcafe. I applied to Emory, Duke, CUNY, University of Washington Seattle, and University of Oregon. My focus in contemporary North-American Literature and French Poststructuralism, although I would also take on comparative work in my other two languages Spanish and Italian.

Have you heard any news? I have been pretty relaxed the past few days but as March gets closer I am starting to worry again.
