aGiRlCalLeDApPlE Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Hi everyone, I'm sorry but I need some help that is not related to admissions. I'm trying to book airline tickets online using a "name-your-own-price" tool at www.priceline.com . I'm dying to find someone who has used this kind of tool before and is able to give me some advice. The website simply has this system where you name your own price for the ticket and enter your information as usual; but the difference is that you're not given the option to choose your departure or arrival exact times ( they just say you’ll travel between 6:am and arrive before 12:30am). I know this is frustrating but the price difference is amazing! Anyone here willing to offer some help, please?
1Q84 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 The only time I've used that option on Priceline, I received a 6am flight. Be ready to get a really, really bad flight time. Bigtimenumberoneloser and aGiRlCalLeDApPlE 1 1
Dr. Old Bill Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Yeah, what you see is what you get. They basically find the flight that needs the most passengers and they throw you on it...which means that you are essentially getting the least desirable flight option. It's cheaper, sure, but you could be on a flight that is often riddled with delays, has tight (or overly long) layovers, or any number of other inconvenient factors. It's basically an option for people on a tight budget, or people who truly don't care how and when they will get to their destination. aGiRlCalLeDApPlE 1
sarabethke Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 and people who have the flexibility to leave at a moment's notice... Dr. Old Bill and aGiRlCalLeDApPlE 2
Two-Headed Boy Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I highly recommend trying google.com/flights. Make sure you're using a private browsing window when looking for flights as most websites use your cookies and search history to hike up the prices. If you haven't, just erase your history and use a "incognito" windows from now on. Cheers! aGiRlCalLeDApPlE 1
