cmkay25 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Hello fellow speechies I am still waiting to hear back from 5 out of the 6 schools I applied to, but I did get accepted into Seton Hall's program for the fall. They gave me 10 days to respond to their offer, and I was too worried to take the risk and not accept it so I put the deposit down and everything. If I get into another school I'd rather go to though, I am going to withdraw my acceptance. However, just in case I end up going to Seton Hall, I want to have a plan set in place, and that brings me to my question. Does anyone know of any Intro to Audiology courses I could enroll in online? I have to complete that course before the fall semester starts at Seton Hall and would rather take it online instead traveling to Seton Hall to take it over the summer. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
Cowsy Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I bet USU would be a good place to look. Their classes are about $900 and the process of enrolling and registering is much simpler than most other online school stuff I've dealt with. You can do something called Quick Enroll (I think) and take up to 12 credits without officially enrolling in the 2nd Bachelors program. The classes and professors are good, too. I'm not 100% sure they offer Intro to Audiology over the summer but it's worth looking into!
Cowsy Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I just checked and yep, they've got COMD 3700 Basic Audiology on the schedule for this summer!
cmkay25 Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 Oh my goodness, thank you so much! You're a lifesaver!!
sd45 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I took Intro to Audiology online through La Salle. They offer it in the summer. I'm not sure what tuition rate is at the moment. But they have it.

Sorry I don't know of any Audiology classes you would be able to take online but I took Audiology at Montclair last semester and it's a lot cheaper than enrolling at SHU. I also just got into Seton Hall but I have not yet received the paperwork and was wondering how much the deposit was? Thanks!
imunster Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) CSU Fullerton is also offering Audiology (HCOM 461) online this summer. Enrollment is through open university so anyone can apply if they fork over the $. EDIT: Ooops it is actually in person not online. I was mistaken because there is an online option this semester! Great class, great teacher, good price, not a hard class, especially compared to some of the others at USU (I'm looking at you COMD 3400 and 5070! ) Seriously though, USU is great, I'd go for it!

But it's such a good program lol. The deposit was $500, and they give you 10 days to decide. Now that could be business days, I didn't really read the paperwork all that well. Still, it is a very short period of time. 9 hours ago, imunster said: CSU Fullerton is also offering Audiology (HCOM 461) online this summer. racoomelon Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 One of my professors recommend that I take audiology over the summer (due to pre req restrictions, I wasn't able to take it as an out of field undergrad). I was also hoping to take a basic chemistry course at a community college this summer. For those of you who have taken the online audiology course, do you think that taking both at the same time would be a bad idea?

I would say that as long as the chem course you're taking isn't too hard, you'd be fine doing both. Now I wouldn't recommend it with the chem course I took back during my 1st bachelor's but that was designed to be a "weed-out" for pre-meds (what I was at the time), engineers, and science majors. racoomelon 1

I second that. 3700 was easy, so as long as the chem class isn't insanely difficult for you, you should be fine! racoomelon 1
mitts02 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'm taking COMD 3700 right now. The nice thing about it is that you can finish early (and yeah, it's really easy). All the exams and quizzes are open at the beginning of the semester, so it's spring break and I'm completely done with the class.
