To add on, if you've done significant research and have published papers during your undergrad. Yes, you are competitive and don't need to ask.

I read the title as 4.0 on the AW section. Like you were saying a 1400+ GRE Q/V could mitigate a mediocre AW. Pretty obvious which part of my application I'm worried about
