People with 3.5+ gpas 1400 combined GREs and significant work experience who ask if they're competitive or not are pissing me off... YES you're competitive. I should be the one worrying about getting in with my 1170 gre score ugghhhhh!!!

I would have to agree with this too.

To add on, if you've done significant research and have published papers during your undergrad. Yes, you are competitive and don't need to ask.

I agree, which is what makes my thread about having a 3.1 and a 1250 more interesting.

I read the title as 4.0 on the AW section. Like you were saying a 1400+ GRE Q/V could mitigate a mediocre AW. Pretty obvious which part of my application I'm worried about ;)
