Can anyone who has been accepted into/attends Boulder for lit give me any indication as how close to April 15th they are cutting off the waitlist?  Also, are any waitlisted applicants ever offered funding?

Hi there!  I'm a current MA at CU Boulder, finishing up my MA this year and heading to a different program for a PhD next year.  I would expect to wait until April 15th, because they notified so late and I know several prospective MAs who have been offered admittance and have not made a decision yet.  Full funding is never offered to MAs, it is offered through TAships or writing center appointments, which cover partial tuition and give a monthly stipend.  MAs are usually given at least one semester of TAing, though if you play your cards right it is possible to get more.  Being admitted off the waitlist will not change anything for you in that respect!  If you have any more questions, feel free to message me. :)

Thanks!  The department hasn't been fantastic with communication (I had to email them and discover on my own that I've been waitlisted, not sure if that's common), so that's really helpful.

I'm in too. I was debating between CU Boulder and Indiana University Bloomington... still am not sure I made the right call but Colorado seems way more awesome lol

Congrats.  Maybe I will see you there in the fall.

If either of you have questions, I'd be happy to answer them!  Congratulations! @puyple @charlemagne88

Thanks!  I've asked around and have already emailed someone about it, but how difficult is it to get a job at the writing center?

Honestly, it depends on how on top of things you are.  If you're in there early and keep up with the office staff, and especially if you'd prefer a writing center placement over a TAship, it's not incredibly hard to get them through the department.  If you mean just an hourly job rather than a placement through the department, there's an interview and application process but I think everyone who applied was accepted, and they get a large percentage of their employees from English grad students.

So the writing center has funded positions and hourly positions...?

This afternoon I formally accepted my offer from CU Boulder.  Thanks for all of your assistance!
