I'm applying to Ph.d. history programs this Fall, and am trying to beef up my SOP.

On my CV I have listed that I presented a paper at 5 conferences--one of which was a big national conference, the other is a big time special issue conference in London. I also published a book review.

So, should I mention any of this on my SOP? Or should I just leave that stuff on my CV (which I am sending with my application)?

if you presented at a national conference, definitely mention. if you will present at a national conference, definitely mention. if you just visited, mention how this was an inspiring experience.

Thanks. That one sample SOP up on Berkeley's site mentions an award. That would obviously be on a CV so I don't see what the problem is by mentioning a conference.

If an award is worth mentioning, do it! Just don't list awards, explain the role and significance of the award in your career interests.

For example, I have a prestigious fellowship. I definitely mentioned the hard work I had to do to achieve said award, and how it represents my preparation and interests to attend graduate school. gl.
