shbhuk
Hi, I have a 60th percentile in my PGRE and a 330 score in the general one. I have completed my Bachelors from India and a Master's from a top 30 college in US. I would like to keep all my options open while applying for a Astro PhD program for Fall 2017 later this year. I have reasonable research experience and I believe can obtain good reference letters from my past PIs. Considering the AAS statement on the correlation (lack thereof) between the PGRE and Astro performance I had decided on not giving the PGRE again. However, I would like to know whether that is foolhardy decision, especially since so many admission committees don't even look at apps below a certain PGRE threshold. Has the change in sentiment towards the PGRE permeated in enough admission committees?
