Feanor Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi everyone! So, who's applying for Maths PhDs? Which general field of interest, backgrounds...introduce yourselves!
njstat Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Hi! Applying for a statistics PhD. Interested in applied statistics, particularly in environmental applications but also open to many other applications (not including biostat or business applications). See below:
Feanor Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 So... no mathematicians, only staticians?
StatsG0d Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Yeah this forum is really more stats focused. You're probably looking for a place like http://www.mathematicsgre.com/ jmillar and poopyhead 2
mathandcoffee Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm applying for math PhDs! I'm primarily interested in algebra and number theory. I've got my full profile on mathematicsgre with the same username.
poopyhead Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm some of both with an applied math/stats slant: Stanford ICME, UNC INSTORE, IUB Stats, and NYU CDS, along with a handful of data science-oriented CS departments. All I have so far is an online video chat interview from one of the CS departments with a PoI.
