Goddard Posted December 15, 2016 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Hello all, I was notified by email this morning that the deadline for new applications to the Duke GPR is now December 16th, i.e. tomorrow, but previously the deadline had been set at the 28th--as recently as a month-and-a-half ago, and there was no announcement so far as I can tell. Does anyone know when this change happened? Has anyone been in contact with the admissions department? Since Duke doesn't appear to accept Letters of Recommendation after the deadline has passed, this is kind of a major problem. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That was my nightmare @Goddard, I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. You might have some leeway for some parts of your application since the date has changed so suddenly. It's worth asking. Goddard Posted December 15, 2016 Author Share Posted December 15, 2016 Hey all, I contacted the Duke GPR about this and they said that the date on the Duke GSAS website (which technically is what grants you admission) has always been 12/16, but on the GPR's own webpage it was 12/28 until a week or two ago because they "forgot to update the website since the last application cycle." The person I spoke with said, however, that in light of the website error they would honor LORS received until 12/28, but that the body of the application (i.e. everything else) had to be in by 12/16. xypathos 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Calvin S Posted December 17, 2016 Share Posted December 17, 2016 That is weird because the part of the GDR website I was looking at (FAQ) said December 8, so that is what I told all my recommenders and I didn't realize until the day before that it wasn't the official deadline.
