As far as I have heared the decission letters have been mailed 29 March. I donot know why we have not recieved any things. the approximate delivery time of regular mail is about 4 days. I would like to assume that I have been rejected since I donot like to think about that unsure.gif

Spoke to CIHR on Monday and they said all the Vanier letters have been mailed. I am still waiting to hear my results. If these letters were sent May 29th, why is it taking so long to be delivered! You'd think they could just send you an email with your results.

Well, mail should be arriving in Eastern Canada and Ontario...anyone getting letters today? (I'm on campus all day and won't know until I get home if the letter arrives.)

Still nothing from CIHR in Edmonton. FGSR here swears that they haven't heard anything, which is crap because as the award office, they should at least find out when things are mailed for the students!! AH!

I am in Toronto and I got my letter today. Although the letters themselves are dated March 26th, the postmark on my letter was April 6.

So some of you may hear back tomorrow, others perhaps next week!

Good luck to you all.

NSERC or SSHRC? Please people be specific.

I understand your frustration completely. I am in the SSHRC division, living in Toronto, and still have not received my letter. I guess we wait until Monday now. Nobody at U of T seems to know anything. The awards office told me (by e-mail): "all letters will be sent to students by the end of the week." I take that to mean some may have gone in the mail just today---likely SSHRC, since we in the humanities do not excell at promptness or efficiency. So it may be a little while still. Hang in there and good luck!

Still nothing! Any other CIHR's waiting? It says on their website that they won't reveal the results over the phone or email.

Still waiting on the east coast for my Vanier SSHRC letter...this is absurd...did ANYONE get there SSHRC letter?

No news yet from SSHRC re: Vanier. It would be nice to have an answer so that I could focus on getting my work done! Patience is not my virtue.

CIHR Vanier letter came yesterday (Edmonton). Fail!

For everyone else that gets bad news, my supervisor told me that I probably got rejected because she's a new researcher, so it may not have had anything to do with my personal application.

Still nothing on SSHRC in Toronto. I think this delay is inexcusable and plan to make that clear to the administrators of the program. They have had our applications for months. If nothing else, I think everyone would prefer to receive an electronic notification in advance of the postponed letters.

I got an email today from CIHR doctoral saying that I have been withdrawn from that competition because I won a CIHR Vanier - but still haven't heard anything from Vanier. UBC grad studies has heard nothing yet about CIHR Vanier awards. The contact person for CIHR Vanier is Sammy Nag (613 948 8200), but I can't reach him by phone. Hopefully there will be a letter in the mailbox when I get home, I don't want to pop the cork on the champagne bottle just yet.
