My Vanderbilt acceptance letter said we'd get a second letter with additional information, including funding, and that these letters would be "sent out no later than March 17th." I assumed this letter would be sent electronically like the acceptance, but the 17th has come and gone! Has anyone received an update to their portal with new information? Or are they mailing physical letters?

I got a letter in the mail today (to my permanent address) saying that I am an alternate for funding and that they would most likely tell me if I got any the first week of April. Hope this helps!

Still waiting on mine...really nervous now. I hope you get good news in April!

I received a letter in the mail on Monday indicating that I am also an alternate for funding. Good luck to those who haven't heard yet!

Thank you, you too!! Don't worry, I think they probably are sending the letters out over a few days so don't read too much into it! Hopefully we all end up getting something! Is Vanderbilt your top choice?

Yes, I think so. I live in Florida, and UF is a pretty good deal for me financially since I could live rent free if I commuted an hour. FSU is looking pretty cheap too at this point. But I don't think I'd turn Vanderbilt down if they offered me anything at all; I'd have a hard time turning them down even if they didn't.

What about you?

Same here! I haven't been offered any funding anywhere - if somehow funding comes through from another school I would probably go there, because I'm kind of freaking out about the finances, but it's hard to say no to them! Hopefully they'll end up giving something. I'm telling myself that Nashville has a cheaper cost of living so it'll balance it out a little, ha.

Living rent-free is a definite plus, and UF would be awesome too!

Still haven't gotten my letter - I emailed Vanderbilt today and they said that they sent the letters on the 17th. They told me that if I haven't gotten mine by Tuesday (3/28), they can scan and email me a copy of my letter, so if anyone else is in the same boat, FYI!

Got mine too, also alternate. (Wonder if they say that to almost everyone and wait to start distributing in April?)

I got the same letter about being an alternate for funding. :( So curious about maybe hearing more in early April. I believe some have gotten funding offers already. Maybe alternates only get offers if those with funding don't accept their offer to attend (which seems unlikely)? I was really hoping for at least a little help with the costs.

Congrats everyone on being accepted to Vandy! And fingers crossed on funding offers. Has anyone made a Facebook group?

Hey everyone! Huge congrats on being accepted to Vanderbilt! I'm applying for Fall 2018, and it's one of my top schools! Would any of you mind sharing with me your GRE scores? That's the only part of my application that I'm worried about! I took it once and I made a 156 V, 144 Q, and 4.0 for analytical writing. I know these need to go up, but I was hoping to get a ballpark of how much I needed to raise my scores if possible. Thanks in advance for anyone who helps me out :)

I had a 166 (verbal) 158 (quant) and 5.0 (writing). My cumulative gpa is 3.76 (3.90 major) so I think my GRE scores helped offset that with Vanderbilt. FYI they mentioned that letters of rec are quite important during my visit, something that I think isn't the case with every program.

I highly recommend the Manhattan GRE books. They are the best!

I was accepted last year with a 162 (verbal), 155 (quant), and 4.5 (writing). I did a Princeton Review GRE course, which I found to be quite helpful. My cumulative GPA was 3.95 (4.0 in both majors). To echo what "Vita" said, letters of recommendation are of the utmost importance to Vandy, so choose your writers carefully!
