Texas Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I haven't heard a peep from GPPI. I checked my online application today and saw no indication of a decision either way. Is there a glimmer of hope for me?
hollanding Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Texas, I am in the exact same boat. No emails, no updates to apply yourself, but no reject yet. Ugh.
steiner-5 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Texas, I am in the exact same boat. No emails, no updates to apply yourself, but no reject yet. Ugh. I've been accepted with (a pittance of) funding, and my status at apply yourself doesn't reflect acceptance either, so don't fret!
Texas Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Congrats on your acceptance, Steiner-5! But, that information makes me feel a little worse...like I'll be receiving a light envelope with a politely phrased rejection in the mail very soon. Just so I can brace myself, when do you think GPPI will begin sending email or postal rejections?

Just so I can brace myself, when do you think GPPI will begin sending email or postal rejections? My last correspondence (received yesterday) stated that admission letters were being mailed out this week via USPS. I'm not sure whether or not GPPI sends rejections by email or not. I think things will look clearer in a week's time FWIW.
natalou Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I just got an acceptance email! Don't give up hope. I had, so I was totally shocked. This was my reach school so I am feeling awesome. I probably won't be able to afford it, though. The email didn't mention when I would hear about funding or lack thereof, but it didn't sound like they were done giving it out, either.
Texas Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks, natalou, and congratulations! Hopefully they'll continue to trickle out good news for other applicants this week.
publicpolicy2386 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks, natalou, and congratulations! Hopefully they'll continue to trickle out good news for other applicants this week. Decaf- I have not heard anything from Georgetown either. I have tried emailing them but I have not heard a response. It was a bit of a reach considering I had a little too much fun the first year of college haha. Good luck to you!!
RH7 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Why does it seem like everyone is getting in? Oh right, I know.... damn. RH7 1
Minerva473 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 For anyone who was being considered for a scholarship last week, have you heard yet? I'm getting to the point where I'm checking my e-mail every 5 minutes. Argh. On another note, I'm being hypercritical of all of these programs right now and one thing I noticed is that GPPI is not accredited by NASPAA, the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. On the one hand, neither are SIPA or Woody Woo, apparently, but these programs are also primarily known for their international sides and they are both members of APSIA. Both American and George Washington are NASPAA accredited. Any thoughts on this?
sky_blue Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 i haven't received any email either..not hopeful though... post if you hear anything? i am refreshing my inbox every 3 mins For anyone who was being considered for a scholarship last week, have you heard yet? Minerva473 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Ha ha at least I'm not the only one. Why, why must they make us wait?

Corbean13 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I haven't heard either... I guess they just didn't finish deciding....right? :-/ I'm really nervous..
Minerva473 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Ugh I don't think it's worth being nervous. Unless everyone who has heard is being very discreet, it sounds like they haven't told anyone and judging by these boards, the GPPI admissions / scholarships people aren't exactly famous for getting back to people on time. I'm putting it out of my mind (yeah right)!
Texas Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 For those of you who have been admitted, has it been to the full time or part time program?
steiner-5 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 For those of you who have been admitted, has it been to the full time or part time program? Mine was for the full time program.
Putoots Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I was also admitted to the full-time program. I received an email on the 2nd saying that I would receive an official letter (hopefully with a funding decision) within 10 days. So...any day now? *Hoping for funding*
paxam07 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Most of the responses so far have been from the full-time program. Has anyone from the part-time program heard back? All my application materials were in on 1/31 except for my last recommendation which came in on 2/7. Would that delay mean they weren't able to review my application until after every piece was submitted? This anxiety is killer.
sky_blue Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 just received my scholarship email from GPPI...$15,000!
Minerva473 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Got my scholarship notification as well. Phew, that's a relief! I was just about ready to give up!
Putoots Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Uh oh...I didn't receive an email. I won't give up just yet. Is that $15,000 for the first year? (I'm so spoiled by Heinz giving scholarships per semester...) @_@
Minerva473 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Mine is for the first year, renewable for the second year depending on grades.
