ForeverJung
Hey everyone. Where do you look to get psychometric scales for studies you conduct? In prior years I would traditionally google search them and hope to find them on a faculty member's website or the faculty member I work with would provide me pdf copies, but I was wondering how you obtain the measures you use for studies you conduct? Is there a website that has PDF copies of measures? I am interested at looking through measures and use new scales in upcoming studies and was wondering where you find the scales you use? Thank you for your time.
eternallyephemeral
Some are available through the papers where they were first published, and others have websites (like for personality measures). Sometimes people who use the measure will include it in an appendix, but if none of those approaches work I contact the researcher and ask if I can use them for research. Good luck! cheesecafe
I use the Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI) database. If your institution has a subscription, it's an easy way to find links to the original instrument and validation paper. https://www.ebscohost.com/academic/health-and-psychosocial-instruments-hapi VulpesZerda
wrighna
I use basically the haphazard strategies you mentioned. It occurs to me that I should have a file where I store all of these once I find them so I don't have to do it again for the same measure!
