tbonetrain Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hey, Did you all (meaning MPP applicants) get an email telling you that you have been given a SPARKS account to logon and check the status of your application? Kind of a little cruel to give you an account to the official advising/registration system before you have even been admitted, huh?

mppapplicant Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Your sparks account lets you know if you're missing any application materials. That is also what I understood; I imagine that they'll let us know by email when the time comes (please, let it be as soon as possible, I can't stand this any longer:)).
leftmost Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I think HKS will only notify ppl in April and if I'm not wrong its going to be all sent in a single day, unlike other places which send the rejections first or send the acceptances in a rolling manner... so i guess we have to be patient for at least another month and a half!
2010Applicant Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I don't know; it says April on the website and in the Q&A it further emphasizes once again that it won't be any earlier than the official date (i.e. April). But then, in an earlier thread when I asked about this, someone says Harvard had always been saying it's April but would then give out the notification much earlier, in March. But it's just one person's input, so I still have no idea how it has been practiced. I hope that someone would enlighten us.

Searching the forum, I found that in previous years the results were announced around the 20th (+/- a few days) of March. Let's hope that'll be the case again this year because I am already very anxious:)

Here's hoping it comes a bit sooner this time.
2010Applicant Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Oh I know very well the results came out mid to late March in previous years. The important thing however is whether the official notification dates in the previous years were March, or whether they're in April like this year's. If they were in April, then most likely we'll receive results early in March this year, just like every previous year's experience. If they were in March, and only this year have they switched the official date to April, that means they have really prolonged the process, and therefore we're likely to know the results only in April. Can any previous applicants shed some light?

2010Applicant Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 no no no, what I mean by 'official notification date' is the time they tell us when the result will be out, not the actual time that they're out. This year the official notification date is April.

This year the official notification date is April. yes i know what you mean. Hmm.. my impression was that it was mar 14, although it could've been Apr 1, if that helps.

They do usually beat their own deadline by a week or so, but always grant themselves the right to send letters quite late.

I just got a confirmation email from the HKS saying that "the decisions will be sent out around the end of March". Given that it's the end of February right now, I assume this means they reasonably expect to be ready for then. So perhaps we will not have to wait as long as we thought!!
