Question:

The most effective way to understand contemporary culture is to analyze the trends of its youth.Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

Answer:
Culture is term that is representative of an entire society as a whole comprising of children, aged and the working class people and not just the just the youth.
To analyze the culture, just focusing on the youth is quite likely to bear false results.

An entire society is represented by  the culture of a place. It is quite unfair to the other members of the society that is not the youth to not be part of the analysis being done on the contemporary culture. If a place 'Suwon' has a trend that
developed just over a few recent years where people after their retirement prefer to stay in the cities itself rather than going to countryside, the above statement would fail in that case. Or if the high schools in Suwon taught the its students the laws of Physics by experimenting in the laboratories and not just on paper.

Meanwhile, the culture of a place is also represented by its  who are not so wealthy to follow what seems quirky. The middle-class people come up with their own version of trends that give the same output with a pocket-friendly budget. Ultimately, there is a class of people who do not easily adapt to the on-going trend. In fact, they come up with their own personal opinions and derivatives of the on-going contemporaries.

As youth of a society has a fresh and open mindset,it is easier for them  to pick up a particular tendency, follow each other and ultimately make it a trend.
So the most  popular trend of a culture may be existing in the youth.

A large part of the society is not covered when just the youth is kept in focus to analyze the contemporary trend. It may be possible that the results of the analysis may miss most definitive part of a society's culture.
