qaz12345 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Hi, I am currently preparing my application for master's degree in Biostatistics. I am wondering if my background is good enough to apply for a few top ten programs since I received a C in Calculus I, which worries me a lot (however, I received A+ in Calculus II: Multivariate Calculus). I appreciate any advice, thank you! edward130603 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I think you'll be fine since you have good grades in more advanced math classes.
StatsG0d Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I doubt that the will C hurt you after getting an A+ in multivariate. You got a very strong score on the GRE. I would be very surprised if you didn't get into at least a few of those schools for an MS.

GoPackGo89 Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Since you are applying to Boston University maybe you should throw Harvard's Masters program on your list as well!

Thanks for the reply! I thought my background (especially that C in cal I...) wasn't strong enough to apply for Harvard and would definitely be rejected, do you truly think I should give it a try?

I don't think anyone is going to hold that calc1 grade against you. Yeah, apply!
