Rosie Mc
Hello- I am currently taking pre-reqs at Longwood and will apply next year. I am a mom to three little ones and a military spouse so I am looking for a graduate program that is at least partially online. Any advice? Thank you!! Part time is at least 6 credits. All classes are online and you only have to come to NY for 2 long weekends during the course of your studies. Most of the live classes are held between 4-9 PM Eastern time, but there are a few earlier classes. Rosie Mc

rchldid
Western Kentucky has an online program. James Madison does as well.
Afternoonprogram
Wisconsin Eau Claire -- it has an early deadline ( I think around Dec. 1st) if you apply -they also offer undergrad on-line courses. I want to add that as a mom myself I looked at a few programs and if you read the fine print -your practicum placements might be a distance away. I would encourage you to talk to the schools -when I spoke to the counselor at the NYU on-line program she couldn't assure me how close my practicum would be to my house. jojom
Has anyone applied to NYU online for the Jan 2018 start date?
slporbust2016
For UWEC's program, you find your own clinical placements, so distance is going to depend on what the options are like where you live. I think the one big rule is that you can't have any placements within 60 miles of the school because they save those for the residential students. I've got all my placements set up but one. The farthest away is 30 minutes, and that's because I really, really wanted the opportunity to be at that site. Do you have to have all your pre requisites complete to apply or can you apply with a plan in place to finish before starting?

2020slp
I believe University of Cincinnati has an online program for atypical student (you would likely follow that criteria because you have children and are a military wife). I also think Eastern Carolina has a program?? I may have just made that up. You can search ASHA's EdFind site and narrow it by online programs only. It's nice to get to see all the professors and my fellow students in person. I think you can have a plan in place for the pre-reqs. I also know their deadline is early--I want to say Nov. 1, but look into that. I applied right about now the year that I applied.
sharon.rc
Western Kentucky University has a wonderful online program that openly caters to individuals who are working/have families, etc. I am in my 3rd and last year of the part-time track and have found my professors to all be extremely knowledgeable and kind. They have a 6-week required internship the summer after your first year and that is the only time you have to go there. I learned so much while at WKU and wouldn't have traded it for anything. All classes are in the evening CST.

Rosie Mc
Thank you everyone! Does anyone know if Idaho State and Western Kentucky primarily cater to residents of those state who live in remote areas? Or do they accept people from out of state? Thank you! Demjc24
Seconding Eastern New Mexico University's program! I'm graduating from it in December. Also a military spouse and actually got pregnant and gave birth to both of my kids during the course of my matriculation through the program. It's a very flexible program, you can switch between full and part time. You do have to attend on campus for the first semester (16 weeks) in order to participate clinic. After that, you can complete the program anywhere. PM me if you have questions
