Does retaking classes for a better grade raises your GPA?

Does retaking a class for a better grade improves your GPA? Has anyone done it?

Have you tried doing some self-study? Test prep like Preped, Magoosh, Kaplan, etc can help you out and would not cost you that much.

This is going to depend on how your institution recalculates your GPA when you retake a course. At some schools both grades count while at others only the grade from the retake would count toward your GPA.
