Scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.

For communities with a decent culture and a viable system, scandals may give useful results to fix the corrupted organisms in the system by appeasing the community about that specific corruptions. Hence, in theory the useful way of the scandals cannot be rejected, but in contrast of the assumption of living in non-aberrant societies, in reality it is very hard to find even one.

Most people in modern societies live in a wasteful life where they do not grow any self-ability anda are hungry for any type of success. Therefore, the people you see everyday have a great chance of being a vicious zealot. After giving their hearts for some leader or some political party or some similar aspect of the society, there is no way of convincing him that the thing or person that he believes is may be a part of the scandal. To give an illustration, the president of Turkey, Erdoğan, actually persuaded his poor fanatics to go outside and fight against the soldiers with tanks while there was a coup attempt against him. Thus, I cannot see anyway that these people will turn their back to Erdoğan after a scandal. Actually, there were accusations against him and his colleagues from his party about stealing money. The result was a more powerful support for Erdoğan. Still, there may be some disagreements about that example by claiming that Erdoğan is an exception, or not every society is as corrupted as Turkish community. Even though we are hearing resignations after scandals, especially from Asian countries, with the technological revolution coming, the number of people who are tend to be fanatics will rise with the decline in the opportunity of finding jobs. Even in US, the greatest economy of our World and the land of freedom, it is possible to see people who are yelling ‘Heil Trump!’, a reference to a Nazi Slogan.

Summarizing, as time moves on and the populations becomes greater, the number of fanatics and radicals will rise too which will lead to people who are rejecting, closing their eyes to the scandals related to their beloved leader or organization. In the past, scandals may give the societies the opportunity to fix the problems, but in our times it will lead to more polarized people who hate each other because they do not like each others’ radical and fanatic attitude.
