MinnesotaHappy Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Hi Everyone! I'm currently trying to widen my application pool for Speech Pathology Master's programs. Going to Arizona is an option for me, and I found Midwestern University in Glendale. I noticed that it is in it's "pre-accreditation" phase for ASHA, so can anyone tell me more about this? Is it just because it's a newer program? What is the program like? Do you start doing clinicals right when you go into the program? Thanks for your help in advance!
AlwaysaFalcon Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I applied to Midwestern in Arizona and other schools that were in the "candidate" stage for ASHA accreditation and this is what the school told me that I interview with in Connecticut (Sacred Heart University). The candidate stage which means that the first 5 years of the program ASHA watches to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. However you will still get your qualifications just like everyone else. The program is just supervised more because it is new. Hope that helps!
