Cornell Fellowships in Support of Diversity

Hey all,

I'm currently wrapping up my last application of the cycle (Glad to almost be done!) and it's for Cornell's program. Part of the application asks whether I'd like to be considered for a diversity fellowship. The prompt is pretty straightforward but other than the prompt itself there is no other information provided. Is anyone else submitting a diversity essay, and if so how long is/was it? Thanks for the help!

Hi @soc4315, I submitted this statement as part of my application to the Developmental Sociology program. My statement was 1.5 pages (single-spaced, written in LaTex). I talked about my personal journey as a racialized immigrant woman and how that experience has informed both my research interests and my volunteer work. I concluded with a sort of vision statement about the work I would like to do as a diversity fellow for Cornell students and Ithaca residents.
