darsenbehelm Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Hi - I'm looking to apply to Agroecology MSc degrees. I have a B.A. in Biology and have been WWOOFing and volunteering with farming communities for the last year. I found this really interesting double-degree program aimed at international students that is 1 year in the Netherlands and 1 year in France - https://www.agroecology.fr/ I'm an American living in the States at the moment and have found a couple of similar programs around Europe, possibly a MSc Horticulture program at the University of Oregon. There are also smaller, 9 month programs in California. I'm curious if anyone has looked into this area before on this forum?
Shnoztastic Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 It's not so much my educational interest but my roommate in undergrad majored in Agroecology. At our school the program fell under Sustainable Development. Sadly, my does not have a graduate program in SD. He ultimately ended up applying to UC Davis for their MS/PhD (http://ecology.ucdavis.edu/programs/agriculturalecology.html). There it's in ecology. He also looked at UCSC, too. Not my expertise but thats my two cents for what it's worth.
rising_star Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 In the US, you'll want to look into rural sociology, agricultural economics, and programs housed in a school of natural resources. Good luck!
