  1. Whatever it means, it sounds good! It sounds like he likes your work and wants to talk about it. Who knows what's after? But that's great! Congrats
  2. So much positive energy and good news. Congrats to all those accepted. So excited for everyone to kick ass in the fall. And those still waiting, I'm there with you.
  3. That's great @lrb0192! Congratulations!
  4. Already very happy you're here And yes @jnp809 Please vent. I was in the same boat. I requested a comment from Yale via phone call and didn't hear back until a week later with my rejection letter, which I guess was their response? Either way I know what you mean.
  5. @jnp809 Sorry to hear about the Brown rejection. I know it sucks. Just got my Catholic rejection today. Not that it was a top choice but still... gotta stick it out
  6. @Lfb236 Thanks for the Iowa info! @esfg1 Did Northwestern tell you they would make decisions by X date?
  7. @Boseph16 I haven't heard anything and haven't seen anything posted elsewhere about them being in contact. You are right, judging by past results, they typically reach out today/by now. @faro555 I had asked about updates on MFA Draft and someone had already called them and they received that info.
  8. @jnp809 This year, more than any other, I've seen the benefits of reaching out. Especially on MFA draft. I would go ahead and reach out. It never hurts. Give them a call. Also those curious about UCSD, I heard UCSD has offered it two people. One has said yes and the other is unknown. So if no rejection you (we) are out of ten under consideration.
  9. @faro555 Thanks for reaching out. That's so good to hear.
  10. Yeah, not so interested in low res but thanks for the info, @jnp809 Also what the what San Diego and Iowa. Ain't heard a thing from UCSD and it seems nobody else has based on anxiety driven internet searching. Probably going to give San Diego a ring this week.
  11. Congrats on the acceptance! And no, I don't know. Haven't heard anything either, didn't get a rejection.
  12. @jnp809 That's good to know. I really feel like Indiana is undervalued. If you're looking for a one on one environment, paid tuition, and a stipend more competitive than Iowa or Ohio, it's a good option. Having had beers with Peter I can also say he's a super great guy.
  13. @jnp809 Did you end up talking to Peter at Indiana about the invite only situation this year? And I know what you mean about Austin. Rejected already by Michener and haven't heard from the theatre department but assuming it's a no.
  14. @jnp809 Sorry to hear about the rejection. Which schools are you still waiting on? And no word yet from UCSD for me. Saw some more notifications on MFA Draft and gradcafe results. Wondering if UCSD is doing waves of notifications? Anyone have any experience with them?
  15. @lrb0192 Thays awesome! What!!!!!! Go you!
  16. Congrats @esfg1! Acceptance or not, that's awesome and you should be proud.
  17. Checked my Yale status. Rejected. Said nice things about my writing but encouraged me to get more professional experience. So sort of makes sense since I'm aware I don't have that many productions under my belt. Figured as much
  18. @jnp809 Right on the money. Those schools typically decide in mid-late March. I know I'm still waiting to hear from iowa, Ohio, Catholic and UCSD. Indiana is invite only this year - emailed Peter, the chair at Indiana, about the process this year and haven't heard back so... who knows. and im interpreting the UCSD info the same way. Here's to March and good news and congratulations to all accepted!
  19. @lrb0192 that's so awesome. Fingers crossed. I would love to know more of what you talked about. Erik Ehn is such an interesting dude. @CocoBeans i feel you. Same situation. Have you emailed or called them? I would love for someone else to give them a call to see what they have to say since I rang them and they didn't respond to my voicemail. Although I'm assuming quite a bit is going on behind the scenes. And I'm assuming we are second tier right now as well.
  20. Congrats to the Yale people. Please let us know how it goes and the same to you @CocoBeans, let us know how the NYU interview went.
  21. @lrb0192 Going to jump on the congratulations train.... Congrats! Keep us updated. and yes. UCSD should refund if they don't accept
  22. @lrb0192 Congrats on the interview! What's the funding situation like?
  23. @esfg1 @lrb0192 Wanted to show solidarity. Still haven't heard anything either. Gradcafe results and MFA Draft have no reports of finalists. Who knows.
  24. @jnp809 thank you! I'll check there. Glad the news is starting to trickle out finally.
  25. For those who got a Yale rejection, did you see the decision on the Apply Drama page where you can see application materials? I was rejected last year and didn't get an email and I can't remember where the decision went because my Apply Drama page doesn't show the decision from last year.
