  1. I"m sorry to hear about that; the waitlist always could move at U of T. Did you apply to other schools? I would say to definitely keep applying; and look at some other programs outside the city if they fit your goals/where you are at as there may be other programs that are a better fit Don't give up!
  2. Keep your hope up too though even if you havn't heard anything (although my application is stronger with experience rather than GPA)! I just emailed York because I still havn't heard anything and I applied for part-time advanced, said my file is already with the graduate department and under consideration. So it sounds like they still keep a list after confirmed acceptances/rejections and waitlist notifications go out and maybe still roll them out as others have mentioned. For myself I just would like to know either way
  3. Happy to hear about the program at Windsor! Great that you have a plan I was just wondering, are you in the position to take out a bank loan? If you don't already have a mortgage, and have a decent credit score, you may be apply to apply for loan's...? My sister couldn't apply for OSAP because of income situations, but got a bank loan and co-signer too; may be able to have a family member co-sign it so you can get approved too.
  4. congrats on your acceptances socialwerq!! So are you deciding now between Waterloo and Calgary?
  5. No worries - it will be a better month for the two-year program in terms of notifications. I still havn't heard anything either way from York, advanced standing...
  6. Yes, good point - thanks! Ah that's too bad for your friend but I'm glad she found a way! You would think that your primary residence is considered to be a basic need but you never know with OSAP like you say.
  7. Hey, thanks! I have some savings but I"m thinking of just a little extra help later on. I started to look into OSAP; i didn't need to use it for my undergrad but I could possibly apply for that. I was thinking of a bank loan as well but I already have a mortgage too and don't want to add too much debt; or more to my mortgage - although it's always an option. I definitely plan on doing MSW (as of now, U of Calgary). I will probably see what I can do this year and apply for a bank loan next year; or apply to OSAP
  8. I have a question, as a mature student - working in the field and out of school for 5 plus years, are there still loans that you can apply for?
  9. Congrats! You must be thrilled Good to see that they are still rolling out acceptances for part-time advanced standing program (I thought it might have been too late) - thanks for sharing!
  10. Ah, I am sorry to hear this. They may send out an email or letter afterwards with an explanation. I know UVIC emailed me a day after my status changed to give feedback but I wasn't sure if the others did that. Mine still says No Decision Yet for advanced standing/part-time.
  11. I am waiting to hear back from York too, advanced standing Part-time and I have heard nothing yet so no worries, still some who are in the same boat
  12. Yes, that helps for sure! Definitely - gotta make it happen I'm sure some opportunities will come up too so that you can find a way!
  13. Yeah, I was going to accept it too on Monday and pay the deposit, even though I'm still waiting to hear back from York and victoria, but I want to make sure I have a spot in a program. I was going to be okay losing the deposit if I got into York as I have no idea how my application stacks up there. But my online account says "Deposit Exempted" though - does it say that for you?
  14. You have some tough decisions - congrats too! Yes, finding the funds is another issues too - that's what hit me after excitement. Would you still confirm the deposit with Windsor if you have time to secure the funds...? Hope you hear back soon from some of these schools
  15. Ah okay - wow two degrees, that's quite impressive! Yes, for me it's the opposite for Toronto in that the programs don't really speak to where I want to go; I went to Ryerson for my BSW. I'd like to hopefully combine social work with business a bit (start a business combined with social good/giving back to the community) which is why the leadership specialization interested me. I'd like to do an MBA in future, but that can be a 10 year goal and lots of studying/preparing for that, lol. Cool - thanks for the positive info about u of Calg as Calgary is still my go to if I don't hear positive news from York.
