  1. UCSB already had their interview weekend, so that's safe to assume rejection. This is my second cycle, and my experience last time was that unfortunately you either get invited or you never hear anything. Some programs also wait until the April 15 deadline to send official rejections, once they've 100% solidified their incoming cohort. My best advice would be to let these go if you haven't heard and it seems like most other people have, it's the worst feeling to keep holding out hope. Was your rejection from UMass Boston a mass email?
  2. This is immensely helpful info, thank you! Guess I won't hold my breath any longer lol
  3. Does anyone know if the following: University of Denver UMass Boston Are done sending interview invites (PhD)?/ if you've received an interview invite from one of these programs, I would be so grateful if you could DM me your POI! thank you!

  5. Hi all-the UNT calendar shows that interview notification deadline for George Washington University was today, but I haven’t seen anyone post...has anyone received an invite? Also, does anyone know if all invites have been sent for UMass Amherst?
  6. Could the posters on the results page who received interview invitations from UMass Amherst message me their POI? I would greatly appreciate it! Congratulations and thanks so much.
  7. Thank you for your input! I know the dates of all interviews except one, and they all land in January/February.
  8. So I got the rather unfortunate news today that I need knee surgery....stressing out about when to schedule this, as I still haven't heard from several programs. Hoping the grad cafe can weigh in on whether I should wait until March when interviews are done altogether? Or sneak it in before then, but potentially have to go to at least one (maybe more) on crutches? I don't really care about being uncomfortable, but from a 'presenting your best self' perspective, would it look bad if I showed up to an interview on crutches?
  9. If those who received interview invites from University of Missouri-St. Louis could message me their POI, I would be so grateful! Thanks and congratulations.
  10. Anyone else having problems with the George Washington University letter of rec system? It isn't working for any of my recommenders.
  11. Hello! Hoping to get some opinions on my chances. This will be my second application cycle, and I am quite nervous. I first applied for the 2017-18 cycle and was offered admission to one program, but declined due to lack of fit & another opportunity coming my way. GRE: V 162/ Q 157 / Writing 5.0 GPA: 3.83 Strong letters of rec Worked in several labs for several years during undergrad, but it only resulted in one co-authorship on a pub, still in prep for journal submission. After undergrad I was awarded an international fellowship through which I travelled overseas and did a ton of volunteer & clinical work, and for the past year I have been working in another research lab. I have a ton of experience both in research and clinically, and am very clear on my topics of interest, but am extremely worried that my lack of posters/pubs will end up killing me. Not sure if I should even bother applying to some of the most competitive programs without more authorship cred on my CV? I welcome any opinions, thanks!
  12. Looking for advice-I only received an acceptance to one program this cycle, and it wasn't very high on my list. However, I was fortunate enough to be offered a very prestigious international fellowship that I plan on accepting. My family and friends are adamant that I inquire about getting a deferral for next year from the program I was admitted to, but this makes me really uncomfortable. I'm nervous that it would be perceived as really rude, and that because of uncertain funding, etc faculty are generally unable to award deferrals for future years-I think it might be more offensive than just declining the offer. Can anyone weigh in with thoughts, or any experience you might have with handling this type of thing?
