  1. I'm surprised by how many people are applying to Windsor this year. From the general looks at last year's forum there definitely doesn't seem to be as many. Poop Since I was banking on Windsor and it's my first choice...of course it would seem to be more competitive this year!
  2. Just received confirmation e-mail from Laurier for 2-year program. They said they will be sending out any further notices if you are missing anything from your package in the next few weeks. Decisions should be sent out in early April
  3. Windsor seems pretty quick so far. They've already received all of my documents and recorded it in their "mywindsor" system. I have already been referred to the department of social work and it's been less than a week. Go Windsor Go!
  4. Yes some Schools of Social Work offer a BSW degree (usually 2 years...correct me if I am wrong) geared towards those who are currently in a degree program or who have already completed a degree. I am planning on applying to York and Carleton right now.
  5. I'm feeling SO anxious about all of this that I'm pretty sure that I'm going to apply to some post-degree BSW programs now. Applications due February 1st so soon but still enough time! WAHHH people are already asking me if I've heard anything....it's going to be a long few months.
  6. Can't believe everything is submitted....today seemed so far away!
  7. Applications starting to come together (thank goodness...only a month to go). Waiting one two of my references still and gotta work out that personal statement! How's everyone else doing?
  8. Friends! I was taking a look at last years discussion board and am feeling the nerves already.... I know most schools consider four things during admissions: GPA, personal statement, references and experience. For the longest time I've felt that I don't have enough experience, I'm too young to be considered and my GPA isn't as good as I think it is. Who knows about references and personal statement....I'm feeling super cynical right and wondering if something could help! My GPA is around a 79% but my last year is about a 84-5%. Is this good?... Stats - 78% Research methods - 90% Experiences - lots of intermittent volunteer experiences at some relevant locations (hard to nail down some part/full time experience throughout school and constantly moving), special needs counsellor at camp for three years and camp director for two years. References - since there is no social work program at my current school it's hard to get any direct social work faculty. However, my fourth-year ethics professor was a social worker and is writing a reference. I also have two other references from my work/practicum positions. Personal statement - can't say much here yet! Finished my draft and will polish it all up once exams are complete. ahhhhhhhh what do you think....? honestly....
  9. Was also wondering if someone could let me know what each school is "known" for. All I can really gather is that UofT is very research/theoretical oriented??
  10. Hey all! I originally posted that I was considering applying to Toronto and Windsor, but I'm really liking Laurier now. I'm wondering how many people applied or will apply for graduate scholarships. In the Laurier application there is a place to indicate if you are applying for a scholarship...if I don't apply will I be at a disadvantage?
  11. Hi all, I'm planning on applying to UofT and Windsor's 2 year MSW programs this year. Looking forward to going through this all together!
  12. Hi all, So strange to be posting this after countlessly reading through forums and forums. I am a fourth year student in Canada I am applying to: University of Toronto (still on the fence) University of Windsor
