  1. I finally heard back and was accepted into NYU. They gave me a small scholarship, too! It's a relief.
  2. I still have not heard from NYU yet, and I applied in January. It's frustrating...
  3. This is my biggest fear. I have been accepted into two schools, but I have not heard a peep from the other four, two of which I applied to in early January. I don't know if I am just being impatient or if these schools have unofficially rejected me already.
  4. I am currently applying for a fellowship to one of the schools I have been admitted into. As part of the application process, I have to write a statement about my experiences, my qualifications, and my financial need. I have written most of my statement, but I am having some difficulty in how to express my financial need. It will be difficult for me to attend graduate school without receiving financial support, but I am not sure how to express this appropriately. Does anyone have suggestions or insight on how to answer this question?
  5. Not sure, but I think it depends on the school. I was accepted at a school a few days after being interviewed, but that does not necessarily mean that's how all schools conduct themselves. Hang in there.
  6. Anyone still waiting to hear back from the majority of their schools? I'm still waiting news from half of them. Is this a bad or a good sign?
  7. Has anyone heard from University at Albany yet?
  8. Still no word from NYU. It's been a long couple of weeks.
  9. I have decided that I won't be attending. I still haven't heard back from most of my schools, but possible funding looks much more promising at another program that I've been recently accepted into, versus the funding possibilities at BU. Good luck with your decision!
  10. Thanks for the information, everyone. I feel much better knowing that there is a standard deadline.
  11. I have recently received an acceptance letter from a school that I am very interested in attending. However, I am still waiting to hear back from other schools that I've applied to to make my final decision. In my letter of acceptance, there is no mention of by when I must accept or decline my offer, which leaves me perplexed. Is there a common deadline to abide by or should I contact admissions and ask?
  12. I applied to SUNY Albany as well and haven't heard anything either. Hopefully we'll hear back soon!
  13. I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU - I applied on 1/4, but my application wasn't marked complete until 2/1. Hopefully I hear back soon and it's good news. It says my application is currently under review, but the wait is killer!
  14. Thank you for your help. I will definitely look more into each individual program.
  15. My main criteria is funding and location.
  16. Hi. I was wondering if anyone could shed some insight into how often assistantships or even work study placements are available as funding opportunities for MSW students? Are they common or are other funding opportunities, such as scholarships, loans, et cetera, more frequent?
  17. I'm in the same position. I have only heard from BU so far and I don't think I'll hear back from my other schools soon enough to accept their offer. It's exciting to get in, though! Congrats!
  18. I got into Boston University! Yay!!!!
  19. Okay. Thank you!
  20. I applied for the fall, too, and I haven't heard anything back yet. The wait is killing me!
  21. I know how you feel. My application was also marked complete on 2/2, and I haven't heard anything back yet. Hopefully soon!
  22. MSW stands for Master of Social Work. I hope you hear back soon!
  23. Thanks, PsychGirl1! Best of luck to you.
  24. Good to know! Thank you, socialworkphd!
  25. Hello. That does sound confusing. I also applied to BU by the earliest admissions deadline and have not heard back as of yet. If you don't mind me asking, how were you notified? Was it through mail or e-mail?
