  1. Well you're in a really good position actually with no undergraduate debt, so I'd say its really up to you and what you'd think you can handle.
  2. Honestly I think it means that they haven't figured out the funding themselves haha.
  3. I got it via email, they said funding was being sent by snail mail
  4. Got into BC! Seatbelt Blue, tell me you did as well! I know this means more to you than anyone else!
  5. Congrats on your acceptances! BTW, I just realized that I'm the only History of Christianity concentrate that I've seen on here for YDS. Hopefully that means I'm the only applicant and get it by default hahahah.
  6. It would be, but it would be very difficult for me to attend with the 50% funding they offered me.
  7. Mmmm, glad to know there is someone else out there whose dealt with this. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Hows the Anglican/Episcopal House of Studies at Duke? I didn't apply to Duke, but if I do end up getting a M.Div at a later point it is a school of interest.
  8. I mean, I've heard it is for Biblical Studies, I guess it very well could be for other sub-disciplines.
  9. Yeah, I have discussed it with one of the priests at my parish, but not in the "meet for six months to a year" sense that I know is required. Basically we've discussed it as a possible future pursuit a number of times (even in the context of a different denomination!) so no action was taken. I know the Bishop here LOVES to send people to Suwanee and that if I decide to be ordained and went to PTS I'd need an "Anglican Studies Certificate" most likely.
  10. Thank you for the advice, very thoughtful. I'm Episcopalian, so Yale Divinity or the Episcopal seminary at GTU.
  11. I know these sort of questions are all over this board, but here goes: Pretty much since my first year of undergrad I knew I wanted to continue onto graduate study with the ultimate goal of Doctoral work and entering the pleasant citadel of academia. However, over the past year the feeling that I will eventually pursue ordained ministry has been getting stronger and stronger. (This, by the way, partially explains why my list of schools may seem a bit schizophrenic to some). With my main choices being SLU and PTS right now, (both of which I would love to attend, albeit for different reasons, and am fiscally able to attend) my main question is whether it would be wise to either: 1) Opt for PTS (or another school in which the M.Div is available, such as YDS), do the M.Div, do some discernment, and have the ability to go into ministry or academia relatively open at the end of it. OR 2) Opt for SLU (or another school that is MA/MTS focused, such as BC or ND), do the MA/MTS, do some discernment, be excellently set up for Doctoral work BUT risk realizing that I should have done the M.Div and have to do another Masters If anyone has experience with similar internal struggles or pursuing two masters I'd love your input. Best.
  12. Well my personal biases would say Yale. What are your goals/interests?
  13. You are the greatest person of all time doobiebrothers.
  14. It was very easy, I think I finished everything in one sitting. The only hiccup was that I listed the Franciscan School of Theology as my first choice, but they're moving to San Diego to be a part of Santa Clara Univeristy so I had reorder things. I ended up listing the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology 1st, Church Divinity School of the Pacific 2nd, and San Francisco School of Theology 3rd. I got an email from DSPT last week because they want a writing sample and stuff. A lot of people from my undergrad go there (4 right now), so that was a big draw for me.
  15. I have a friend who heard from the M.Div program mid-February, I don't know if that means anything for MTS applicants however.
  16. Seems the most logical to me, but it is even the rule for my case either.
  17. Its almost 5:00 and its a Friday, brace yourselves everyone.
  18. If it helps for all of us waiting on YDS, their Spring Break is from March 8th to the 25th, which possibily means they'll let us know by the 8th since the 15th lies in this break period.
  19. Maybe if we all just visualize getting YDS acceptances tomorrow it'll happen??? Thats kinda what I'm banking on at this point.
  20. I applied by the priority deadline (M.A.R. concentrate) and have not heard, as have a couple others on here.
  21. I honestly don't think so, I don't have the money or time. You'll get an offer this week I'm sure!
  22. Thanks! I'm gonna wait it out and see what happens with my other schools, plus I feel emotionally attached to PTS since it was the only school I was able to visit/they were the first school to accept me...
  23. St. Louis just came back with a better offer than their initial: full tuition with a stipend! Although I'm not so hot on living in St. Louis, SLU probably has the best program for my interests and the offer is too good to pass up. Praying everyone will hear good news this week.
