You're better off checking gradcafe, you'll find out just as quickly, and it won't be nearly as depressing.
-
Mine has been status the 10 times I've checked today.

I'd like to live at Cronkhite if I got in. It's definitely more expensive(the meal plan is a killer) but it's right in the middle of everything.
-
I like how this thread got 10,000 views in the past 3 days.

I submitted my FAFSA January 3rd, but they didn't say anything until I called the financial aid office on Friday to see if they received everything, and that's when they told me I needed to verify my citizenship. Hopefully, that won't be an issue for you, since they didn't let you know by the deadline.
-
I just got confirmation that my financial aid went through, I had to fax in a copy of my passport today to verify that I was a citizen. Did anyone else have to do this?

What was the newsletter about?

Chances are your GPA will be ok, just look at the results from past years. There are people just above a 3.0 that got admitted, and there are people with a 4.0 that got rejected.
-
I posted the same thing earlier, but that only works out to half of us on here(granted there's some selection bias).
-
Based on the times that people posted from the 2012 thread, it seems like it was in the afternoon.

I got an email at 6 Central time.

Same here, unfortunately, I think we have a week left. My Stanford application wasn't that strong. It was mostly my HGSE app, but not as convincing. I'm really hoping to hear better news from HGSE.
-
Rejected for LDT Congrats to everyone that got in!
-
Did you guys fill out the Residential Services part of the application? I just realized that I didn't yet when I was checking my application.
-
I was running into problems with TaxAct where they kept trying to charge me. I ended up just downloading the 1040ez myself and I mailed it in. It only took 2 weeks until I got my refund.
-
Wow, that impressive. I think the most HGSE will give out as a grant is $12,000, and then you can get another $5,000 with FWS. I wish Vandy had an ed. tech program.
-
Yeah, they're just good to have in general, but it's never too late to make one. Plus it only takes like 30 minutes and you rarely need to update it.
-
I put a link to my website on my resume, and I keep checking Google analytics everyday to see if anyone from Cambridge has been to it. 2 people have, but 1 was someone who clicked on the link in my signature on this forum, and the other could very be an adcom, but could also be a student from Harvard. I'm going crazy waiting.

Based on a timeline relative to Ed.D decisions from last year, and that decisions are usually released on a Tuesday, it seems that March 5th is the date they announce things.
-
Anyone else applying to TIE? The Education Innovation Pitch Competition that the Facebook page has been posting about sounds incredibly interesting.
-
I want to go into educational tech entrepreneurship and later, consulting. Public Consulting Group recruits out of HGSE, and I'd like to think that a degree with a Harvard name would be good for applying to business schools down the road. Being able to be an intern at the MIT media lab would be useful, and the i-lab was another huge draw to the program.
-
I'm actually hoping lack of financial aid will help with admissions a bit. I was fortunate to have very little debt from UG because of scholarships, working and attending a state school. The program only being a year long really helps with getting a job to pay back the loans. The HGSE employment statistics are somewhat comforting as well.
-
Aren't the acceptance rates for the Ed.M programs around 50%? I'm sure most everyone who posted in this thread will end up getting in.
-
I think you guys are worrying too much about your GRE scores. From what I gather, HGSE just wants to make sure you can do the work, so your SOP and previous experiences would be much more important for the M.Ed program.
-
Apparently, HGSE decisions have gone out the first Tuesday of March. Stanford should be announced around the same time.
