  1. I'll be applying, just finished my masters from Columbia. I'm applying to the HDLT program.
  2. I would look into Higher Ed masters.
  3. I know a couple of students who have done this. You have to be aggressive about finding research here and joining a lab.
  4. The Ed.M is probably around 30-50% depending on the program. The Ed.D is in the single digits, and the Ed.L.D is one of the most difficult programs to get into, with the acceptance rate being less than 1% if I remember correctly.
  5. Yeah, feel free to message me, I'm in the Mathematics, Science, and Technology department, but I can also give you info about Social Organizational Psych, as well as Human Development.
  6. While I certainly understand how the Yelp review would deter you, I know for a fact that the classes in your program(if you're doing bio education) are among the smallest, usually 10 students per class. You would get to know your professors pretty well.
  7. I'm a current student, feel free to shoot me a message.
  8. Here's the employment and salary survey from Teachers College: http://www.tc.columbia.edu/i/a/document/26421_2012GraduateSurveyReport.pdf
  9. Absolutely! It's April 11th! I'll be speaking at the student panel that day, looking forward to hearing everyone's questions!
  10. Congrats to all that got in! If anyone has any questions about the school in general, the area, or CCTE, shoot me a message!
  11. Anyone else living at International House? New Res was too expensive for me.
  12. (speaking in generalities) This may actually be to your advantage because it'll motivate you to stand out more, and the recommendation may go farther. The TC alumni network in my mind is one of the strongest features of the school.
  13. I'm really hoping that I can get into university housing, I really would like to live at Whittier, but I didn't fill out my housing form until last week.
  14. I think the point was that the ability to repay loans is much easier for Harvard business, medical, and law students because of higher salaries. Even if MBA salaries aren't what they were, an MBA from HBS will still demand top dollar, same for Harvard law. In terms of social value, I don't think there is a question that education is one of the most important fields, but the lack of compensation unfortunately turns some great minds towards other fields.
  15. Mine was in the acceptance letter.
  16. Just found out I got in for Instructional Technology and Media! I just started filling out the housing forms, hope it's not too late.
  17. I'd go with LSE if you want to get a PhD down the road, it's a well known school for international development, and the thesis would help set you up for a research focus.
  18. I wish I had applied for MBE as Airwick had originally expressed to me, even though I had wanted to do TIE. Check out https://getmyo.com/ and http://www.emotiv.com/epoc/features.php for those who got in.
  19. Thanks man, I appreciate it.
  20. Rejected Congrats to all that got in!
  21. I'm not trying to put down Peabody in any way, but those numbered US News rankings are pretty subjective, it can vary from program to program in each school.
  22. Congrats on Vandy! I wish HGSE had the kind of assistantships and scholarships that Peabody did.
  23. It looks like TC is releasing decisions based on specific programs(based on the results page).
  24. I mean, it's not close to the latest they promised us. I bet they let us know in the next week.
