  1. I've been wondering the same. Starting to think what we saw was a fluke or not on the up-and-up.
  2. Ethics with Hauerwas at Duke would be really cool.....so would American Religious History with Paul Conkin at Vanderbilt, but he's an emertis now.
  3. I am in FG, religioustiger. I grew up out here, moved away for quite a while, and am now back until grad school. I love Warner Pac, great people there. Body Politics, I am indeed a Church of Christ guy, in the progressive tradition. I'm interested in how stone-campbell history, theology and ethics come together. I've heard good things about ESR/ECS. Studying with Paul Blowers?
  4. I'm at Warner Pacific College, a small regional liberal arts school. We aren't well known either, but the professors in my major/minor fields are excellent.
  5. I saw one on 13-14, but none others. I went back and searched but couldn't find any more info.
  6. Ashley, are you the one who posted in the results search today? Just trying to guage whats going on...
  7. I sent you a pm with a link. I'm in Portland as well, what school are you at? Josh
  8. Just got an email from academia.edu that several people have viewed my page and read my book review in the last few days. Should I take that to be a good sign that the Duke and Vandy adcoms are checking me out?
  9. I received the same email from Duke today as well... Six weeks...
  10. I'm interested in historical and political theology. I am specifically interested in the intersections of theology, warfare, and pacifism. I've applied to Vanderbilt, Duke and Lipscomb. Josh
  11. Hello all, I am applying to three schools right now, two top tier schools and a denominational school: Vanderbilt (1st choice), Duke, and Lipscomb (in Nashville). For all three I'm applying for an MTS, focusing on historical theology. I'm applying here because my wife is applying for nursing residency programs in Nashville and NC. I am currently a senior at Warner Pacific College. My first year of education was at a small denominational school right out of high school... I hated it, got a 2.0 barely, and dropped out at the end of the year. I then went into the work force, and eventually ended up in a ten year career Iaw enforcement. I decided to go back to school a couple of years later after starting my career, about 8 years after dropping out. I got an AA in Community College with a 3.94 GPA (they didn't count my former coursework in GPA totals). At Warner, I've gotten a 4.0 in all my coursework there, but they do count my work at other schools, so I have a 3.664 GPA. I'm heavily involved in research. I'm part of a social science of religion project that is getting scholarly attention and already has article/book deals going, and will be listed as an author for these published works. I'm also involved in some exciting historical research on US government interference with religious groups during times of crisis. I should have author credit on published works here as well, and publish we will. So, for those with experience with these schools, what are my chances do you think, for both admission and funding? Thanks! Josh
