Any news from UPenn, Notre Dame?

Hi Berna, I am also Turkish. Your profile seems fine with your targets. Publications will help you so much in my opinion. I applied 4 programs and not sure for one another(Boston College). Best luck,

For international applicants It is really hard see the rising or declining programs. I add UGA SPIA in my PhD application list. It is ranked #48 in USNews. However, I want to hear any detailed thoughts on program(especially in IR subfield) rather than ranking. Is it a rising program? Methodology? I am interested in International Security and Realist IR theory. I examined the research interests of the faculty. However, I am not sure does it really fit my interest.

Hi everybody... Last year I got 1 of 5 application. I deferred the offer and plan to offer 3-4 progams within this cycle. I need funding. That's why i have to choose carefully these programs. I am not a very competetive one. Major: IR TOEFL: 110 GRE: 310 GPA: 3.65 Master Degree Paper at ISA 2014 3 Internships, (in total) 12 months 2 year- RA experience Notre Dame, UVa(not sure),GWU, Delaware, UT Austin, Boston College, Penn State, Georgia State, Temple, GMason are on my list. I lost my courage last year. Any ideas on the list?

SUNY Binghamton vs. University of Florida
doctoralgrad23 replied to doctoralgrad23's topic in Political Science Forum
I asked them this. Here is their answer: Our MA program is integrated with our PhD program since you take the same courses and together with PhD students. Our department does not have a self-standing MA program. So you have been admitted to the MA track if an integrated MA-PhD program, as far as I can figure it out. Your eligibility to continue to the PhD track will be determined before the end of your third semester if all goes well. -
GWU as a Rising Political Science Program?
doctoralgrad23 replied to brandnewtothis's topic in Political Science Forum
GWU was my top choice for this cycle in this cycle but I got a sad rejection. However, some professor transfers like Glaser within rencent years are positive improvements for the 'academic' side of the department. -
I got two acceptances in this cycle and I need to choose one of them. Binghamton offers me a terminal MA before PhD, UF do offer PhD directly... I have outside scholarship. My Subfield is IR and I would like to do further studies on Int security and IR theory(realist theory). I am open to all advices from intellectual environment to living costs. Which one?

Cycle is over for me. 6 application, 2 positive and 4 negative replies. Not bad. I got an acceptance from one of my top chocies. However, I need to solve problems about scholarship. Good Luck everyone. If ı could start the program, I would do my best here to help other applicants for next cycle. -
