  1. No funding!
  2. I still haven't heard about funding...
  3. In for Security Policy Studies!
  4. Same here... Before the admission decision I was worried I wouldn't get in, now I'm worried I won't get any funding!
  5. I emailed the Admissions Coordinator yesterday, he told me I would get information on funding early next week!
  6. Ok thank you for your help!
  7. Hi! I'm admitted as well. Do you know if we had to fill out a separate form to receive funding, or are we automatically considered? Can we apply for on-campus housing as graduate students (I know that in some schools on-campus housing is only available to undergraduate students...)? Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm from France and I don't know how everything works...
  8. Thanks Eager! I cross my fingers for all of us!
  9. Hi everyone! First of all, this is an awesome thread. So I've been feeling hopeless about getting accepted anywhere after I got rejected from a program a few weeks ago. But yesterday, something happened: I saw that a professor from a school I applied to had viewed my linkedin profile, and that we have one relation in common (whom I know from my summer internship, which is directly related to my academic area of interest). Now I'm wondering if that professor intentionally searched my profile, or if he just randomly checked the profiles of his relations' relations. If so it would be a surprising coincidence, since he teaches right in the field I'm interested in (international security), in one of the school I applied to. Also, he probably saw that I had viewed his profile after he had viewed mine, because today he checked my linkedin page again! Good sign or hallucination?
  10. A professor from a program I applied to viewed my linkedin profile three days ago, and we actually have one relation in common (whom I met during my summer internship!). So I don't mean to be too curious, but have those in the same situation as me been accepted?
  11. That's really helpful, thank you guys!
  12. Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any good book on American nationalism/patriotism you would recommend? It's hard to make a choice... Thank you!
  13. I am applying to one last program, a dual master's program Sciences Po-Columbia University. For that application I have to write at least one paragraph of my SOP in both French and English (French is my native language). So I was translating the first paragraph from English to French, when I noticed something weird in one sentence. It was grammatically incorrect. But I actually submitted all my other SOP with that incorrect sentence for all my U.S. applications! Omg I hate myself so much right now!
  14. Ok, thank you! Looks like your work experience abroad IS significant though, and your ability to speak several languages is impressive.
  15. Congrats I actually got my REJECTION letter yesterday. May I ask you guys what your backgrounds are? If I don't get in any program this year, I'll re-apply next year!
  16. Ok thank you for your replies, and CONGRATS to you!
  17. I saw in the results board that someone got accepted to the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs last Thursday. First, I wanna say CONGRATS to that person , and second, if you see this thread, please post below because I have questions! Same thing for anyone who has heard back from CIPA. I read somewhere that they make decisions within three weeks, so I would like to know if it's true (if so, I could expect to hear something THIS WEEK!!). Thank you!
  18. I'll be there too! Congrats Nohika, you must be so excited!
  19. I got a Bachelor in Philosophy and a Bachelor in Political Science here in France (my home country). I don't have a GPA since papers and exams are not graded the same way as in the US. I've studied in the US as an exchange student last year though, and my GPA was 3.6. I am currently enrolled in a one-year master program in France. My toefl score is 103. About work experience, I interned in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs last summer. I applied to the M.A Political Science at McGill! What's your background? You're not applying to McGill, are you?
  20. Has anyone here ever applied to the M.A. in Public Affairs at Cornell between November and January? They have a rolling admissions program, and they say they usually make a decision within 3 weeks. But they also say that it may take as long as 6 weeks when they receive a lot of applications (between November and January). Based on what some of you might have experienced, when do you think I can expect an answer?
  21. Don't! If you sent twelve emails I guess the professor replied each time, so it means he/she didn't take offense! I understand how you feel but I'm sure it's no big deal.
  22. I just got this: Reading "we we pleased to..." made my heart beat faster... for nothing.
  23. You should contact the admissions office!
