  1. My exams start the day after tomorrow, I'm spending so much time on reviewing that thinking about my apps is almost a relief!
  2. Hi everyone! I just made my video interview for the Cornell School for Public Affairs, so all my applications are finally in! Now I can join you! I applied to University of Chicago, George Washington, New York University, Washington University in St. Louis, Cornell, and McGill. Hang in there everyone!
  3. Defiance Ohio!
  4. Thank you languages-etc, it's a very good suggestion!
  5. Laura_b, I think it simply means they didn't update the delivery status on the website, so hopefully they received your application packet but didn't confirmed it yet.
  6. Today I received a standard email from the admissions assistant of a program I'm applying to, saying I have 5 days to make a video interview of myself and upload it. It's taking me by surprise, because I initially thought the admissions committee would (directly) interview me only after having reviewed my application. But it turns out to be a requirement. Anyway I'm freaking out because it's the very first time I have to speak to a computer (well, except for the TOEFL). Has anyone here ever experienced that? Do you have any advice? Just so you know, it's for the Cornell School of Public Affairs. Thanks!
  7. No there's no such option. I can only upload my transcripts and SOP...
  8. Thank you Nickel, it's very helpful. I'll probably contact the Committee directly. If they tell me to add a note on my SOP, do you think I should write something like "Note : I selected the Development studies option on the form by mistake;I am actually applying to the M.A. in Political Science." ?
  9. Thank you Sugarmilk for your suggestion. But here's the thing: in my SOP I explain what topic I want to work on (U.S. foreign policy and international security), and it has nothing to do with that option (development studies)... I'm afraid the admissions committee will think that I'm just stupid or something!
  10. When submitting my last application form today, I realized I had selected the right program, but the wrong option. I actually do not want to select any specialization area, as none in that program matches my area of interest. I emailed the Graduate coordinator of the Department, who told me that it won't be a big deal, but that I still have to make a note on my SOP (which I have to upload on a different website) saying that I made an error. I have no idea how I should write that note. Should I write a sentence on top of the first page? Thank you very much for your attention!
  11. Glad to hear that your referees finally got the request!
  12. Thank you all, I'm feeling much better now!
  13. Thanks a lot, this really helps. Merci!
  14. I emailed them a few weeks ago, they told me I had to submit the form and that my referees will then receive the request!
  15. Thank you for your reply! I wish I could retake the GRE, but I won't be able to retake it until February, and the deadlines fall on January... In France I've attended "classe préparatoire" (it's a selective school where we prepare for competitive exams) for 3 years, and since 2010 I attend "Sciences Po Rennes" (another selective school in Political Science). During 2011-2012 I was an exchange student at UMass Boston. The schools I'm applying to are University of Chicago, New York University, University of Texas, George Washington, Cornell University, and McGill in Montreal.
  16. Hi everyone! I'm a French student and I'm applying for several International Relations programs in the U.S.. In France most people don't know anything about U.S. applications, so I'm feeling a bit alone... I'm concerned with my GRE scores. I took the test 10 days ago and I got 160 Verbal, 146 Quantitative (it's low although I worked a lot on it), and 3.5 AW (I expected to get at least 4). I'm really disappointed. My GPA isn't extraordinary because I've studied in very selective schools, where the teachers are strict. One of my teacher is going to explain this in her letter of recommendation. But I studied one year in the U.S. during 2011-2012, and my GPA was 3.6. Regarding work experience, I interned in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs last summer. My TOEFL score is 103. What do you think my chances are? Thanks a lot...
