I applied there too, and haven't heard anything regarding a decision. I did email them early this week, and they said decisions will be released by March 15. Not sure if that's merely a "canned answer" or not...

yes - I understand not wanting to bug him.. at the same time, it is March 8th (i.e. high decision time), so it's not completely unreasonable to ask about your status. If it was mid-Feb, then it would be a different story. Plus it seems as though he's getting fewer inquiries now... his email must have been flooded earlier in the week (and I do feel bad about that), but things may have calmed down, so what's one more question?! and best case - he may be able to give you GOOD news!!

it does seem as though there should be more Harvard acceptances on the board.... Have you tried emailing or calling the dept? Thom W sent me my rejection right away when I inquired. I'm sure he'll let you know where you stand, since it seems as though their decisions have been made regardless of whether they've been officially sent out or not.

I received the same response from UVa, but I didn't feel as though it was a waitlist - more like a pending rejection. But maybe I'm just farther down the list!

Thanks! A little of both... I had emailed early this week and received a nice but fairly brief/generic response that decisions would be released soon. I'd say today's email was unrelated to the previous one, but not completely sure.

really we can't take these admissions decisions so personally, as hard as that may be. as various posters have said, there could be multiple reasons why someone is waitlisted, accepted, or rejected for that matter... it's a complicated process and taking it personally only makes it harder and more frustrating.... me too, and I never thought twice about it... during the admissions process we are no more than a few stats and a stack of papers (an important stack of papers, of course, but a stack regardless). it's hard to get in the door, but what matters is how you perform once you're in.

Me too. I checked the Apply Yourself website after I saw the rejection posted to the Results Board...
