  1. Almost glad to hear that they haven't told you anything, some maniac posted that they'd been accepted to UNC-Epi on 1/13. Could just be an anomaly but if the results from last year are any indicator we should hear back any day now. What are your stats if you don't mind me askin Mamma (I shared mine on the first page of this thread). Also, http://www.sph.unc.edu/images/stories/academic_programs/epid/documents/Student_Services_Resources/program_area_descriptions_with_epi_by_the_numbers.pdf is a link to where UNC-Epi posts the GRE and GPA for accepted students the last 5 yrs. My stats for the GRE are right in the middle and my grad GPA is way higher (which they've told me they pay WAY more attention to than U GPA). Gave me the confidence to go through with the app. Hope it does the same for you!
  2. It seems like most of the PH results coming out are for Biostats and Health service/policy. Nothing really for epi which is what I'm waiting for. However according to last year's results if we were accepted should be hearing back from UNC-Epi in the next few days. Good luck everyone!
  3. Haha, sorry to jump on you about it. Yea it seems like the bio-stats results are coming out right now, I've seen Epi results mainly form Emory thus far (just a few). Haven't heard yet but think I should hear from UNC pretty soon.
  4. I didn't mean stats stats, I meant post your stats referring to GPA GRE etc and if you've heard back from epi programs.
  5. I know alot of these posts are kind of old. But the only application I submitted through SOPHAS was a pain in the ass regarding my reference letters. One of my references told me he couldn't locate the notification from them, it was probably just buried in his inbox. It was no big deal to me I figured I would just enter my application and click an option to re-send it (the way all my other applications do), but there wasn't an option for that so I removed him and added him again (the only logical thing I could think of). A week later he had only gotten the notification saying he had been removed, I call SOPHAS and lo and behold the only way you can re-send the notification is by calling their customer support line (doesn't say it anywhere on their instructions/application). And of course they were snotty about it.
  6. Just wanted to kick of a Fall 2013 thread for Epidemiology/Public Health PhD decisions. Just say where you've heard from and what your stats are. Let me know if this is already started elsewhere. Ugrad GPA: 3.2 Grad GPA: 3.88 (MPH Community Health/Health Promotion) GRE: V-160 (610) Q-155 (710) AW-4.0 Haven't heard anything yet. 7. Hey guys, love the forum! I see alot of positive energy and feedback on here. It's a great place to kill time waiting for my PhD decisions to come through. I wanted to gauge feedback on getting into my doctoral programs in epidemiology since my MPH is in community health/health promotion and I don't have 9-5 experience. Grad gpa: 3.88 Ugpa:3.2 GRE: V 160 (610) 83rd% Q 155 (710) 64th% AW 4.0 2 yrs as graduate teaching assistant 1 summer as graduate research assistant 3 departmental monetary awards to support research/going speaking at conferences
