  1. Have you contacted any of these places? You might be waitlisted.
  2. I'm Rhetoric.
  3. Maybe email to ask programs if they would accept an updated CV?
  4. I'd go stag for classes and receptions.
  5. Looks like somebody wants to go out on a date.
  6. I know that in professional programs (law and policy, specifically) schools use it to figure out a recruitment strategy and to negotiate funding.
  7. Do it. In an interview for the program I'm currently attending, I told the school directly that they were my first choice. I think it helped me come off as serious and focused. Letting a program know you really want to be there can be especially helpful if your background is interdisciplinary and/or not totally aligned with the program your interviewing for (e.g., if you have a degree in Latin American Studies and your applying for a History program.)
  8. 51% 'I' here. I'm talkative and an extremely "performative" teacher but love to be alone. Hell is other people. In my current situation (Masters' level professional program for overachievers), I'm a INTJ in a sea of ESTJs.
  9. Get it, girl
  10. Rejections popping up on the results board (sorry guyz). To our fallen comrades, did you recieve a personalized email?
  11. Also, if I could get a home address and a list of food allergies for everyone accepted into programs I am waitlisted that'd be great. Thanks!
  12. ^ I down voted when I meant to up vote. Sorry, Charlie. As an apology I will pay homage to a Detroit hero (Jack White.)

  14. Still waiting. My guess is that I'm either waitlisted or rejected. Bummer, too, because it's my top choice. In the unlikely event of an acceptance, I'll be like this guy:
  15. I'm reading this from inside a coal mine.
  16. Austin is so fun. You're going to have a really good time!
  17. Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, what's your subfield?
  18. afro-american studies is the shit. congratulations!
  19. I think rejections are distributed by subfield, but I lack any real evidence. Just a huntch.
