  1. Hi finalcountdown. I found this post and I wonder if you are now attending the PhD in MCC at Steinhardt. If that is the case, would you give some insider-tips about the application? I already submitted my documents and it is kind of late to ask, bu anyhow I would like to know... thanks you
  2. I just wanted to confirm what the others already said. Eliminate all kind of personal things, unless they are *really* relevant. Specially in Germany you should go *straight* to the point. I really mean it. Focus on your career as much as you can. If at the end you have a one-page statement with the real important things, it will be much better than a 10 pages statement with irrelevant content. btw. Germans unis are not very familiar with the SOP style of the U.S.A. I would think about it as a cover letter with an extended presentation of your self.
  3. I got today one rejection from a uni in amsterdam. While I was not so enthusiastic about this uni, the rejection made me feel anyhow very anxious. I started to doubt about the other applications... and I have been feeling terrible all the day. I freaked out at some moment and started to look for positive or signs... It is horrible.
  4. I also don't have a good plan B. I'm working right now but I don't really like the job. I really think that I have a lot of potential, yet I have had not so many chances, where I can show it. This makes me kind of sad. I really wish to get admitted to some uni, but I'm kind of pessimistic right now. I went also all-in with the applications and I doubt that I will be able to apply once again. So, - no plan B. Just keep doing what I'm doing right now.
