Congrats! I'm in CYF

Signature changed now just waiting for my admission to be processed so I can finally "view app status" and see "Accepted" instead of "Referred to Grad Dept" lol BTW, any of you who are planning to enroll at SJSU feel free to PM me and add me on FB if you're comfortable. I'd like to start networking before getting there since it's been a couple of years since I've been back to San Jose.

I believe I will. I need to choose between this & a good program in Sweden but it makes sense to not do an international move and stay in the states. What concentration were you accepted to?

Yes I just have to email it. Didn't have internet access this week except on my phone so that's getting turned in tomorrow if not today

Sorta. The swedish programs I applied to have rankings and it would seems that my top program has rated me for "Direct Admission" but the official results don't come out until this Wednesday, the 27th. I didn't apply to any other U.S. programs except SJSU though.

Still no call for me :/ Not looking too good. and @floresea my decision was based on location, having a good MSW program, family being there, and the fact that it has the stipend program because I just would not want to add on more debt for myself but the possibility of a stipend would make the education even possible. Not ever school has a stipend program for their MSWs

I had actually emailed Molly yesterday as well just to ask if she knew if my app had been reviewed and as of her reply yesterday she said it had been assigned, but hadn't been told that it had been reviewed yet. She then told me to call her in about 1 week if I hadn't heard anything yet. I'm wondering now if they really do just look over apps...

I'm not but just as an FYI I was reading that professors at the University of Utah's Social Work department have begun an animal assisted therapy course and seems they're moving in the direction of making it a sort of "add on" track as well. So, in case you end up not liking Denver and since you have some time to visit places, there's another dept. beginning what you're interested in At this point I'm sure you'd have to email the dept. to get any additional information though.

That makes more sense to me. I felt like Financial Aid is another department on their own timeline and schedule apart from any decision-making by the MSW program. I figured they were just getting their paperwork in order in case a person is eventually accepted so they know what to offer, if anything. This wait is killing me. I saw on Tumblr that quite a few people already have acceptances from SJSU's library sciences program and I just wish the MSW program was that quick, too! lol

Yes, I received the message yesterday and my to-do list items were up on Monday for me to complete for financial aid so I did that and sent what items they need off on Monday. I hope that's a good sign, but I'm feeling like perhaps financial aid doesn't have anything to do with admission and isn't any indicator; that perhaps it was just financial aid doing their end and getting in paperwork to be considered for max funding if accepted. Anyone else know if it actually means much of anything?

Wow that was way quick! Maybe some more will start hearing this week then Congrats!

So I did PM one person that i noticed had been accepted/called by SJSU for MSW and he had been notified March 6th during the 2012 cycle, but he had also turned in his materials Jan. 6th. I scoured the site to see if the deadlines were different last year but there's no mention of deadlines from previous cycles so no help there :/ Someone else called about their app just last week and was told that sometime "mid-march or later" the acceptances would begin rolling out. I'm super anxious now that we're getting into the first real week of March. The person I PM'd did also say that acceptances continued all the way through May though so I don't know what means as far as timelines or how unnerved one should get if they don't hear something IMMEDIATELY at the vague-ish time of "Mid-March or later" lol
