  1. Molecular Medicine at U of Maryland and IPBS at Loyola U Chicago today. For both I just got the rejection after checking my status online or calling the program for a status update. No interviews, no news! I suppose its the end for me!
  2. Two rejection on one day! TODAY!

  3. Hi All, I would really appreciate if anyone (specially international applicants) has any opinion on the following. So I received an email from the international center of one of the Universities I applied to. It said "You are receiving this letter because we are missing the required documents needed to generate the I-20/DS-2019 for your student visa"; it also mentions "This correspondence is not meant to serve as an indication of admission. An official letter from the Office of Admissions regarding the decision made on your application will be mailed separately." Note: I still didn't hear anything from this or any other U, neither been interviewed yet. All international students out there with previous experience of attending school in USA probably know an I-20 is issued only after admission is granted. Now I can't be sure what it is. I can't be happy about it yet either, but I want to be happy. And the office doesn't open until 2 hours. Anyone has any insight please share. Thank you!
  4. After writing to the director of the BU PiBS program, Dr. Cruikshank he replied on Jan 13th with similar ambiguous answer. "We are in the process of evaluating approximately 500 applications. Those students who we feel will be a good fit for our program will be contacted to set up interviews. Hopefully you will be included in that group. Thanks very much for your interest in PiBS and best of luck with the review process." So anybody can make out anything from it? I also called Natasha yesterday and asked her straight up whether they wait until all decisions has been made to send out the rejections or do they send as it comes; her answer was the latter, they send it as it comes. But I havent seen any BU PiBS rejection yet this year. I am so confused about BU.
  5. Thanks nns91 for sharing your experience. I hope to hear from them soon. Good luck to you for your other interviews!
  6. Hi nns91 I was wondering if your UMass med interview was in January, and if so, how was it, if you don't mind sharing. Is your program there is BBS? I'm waiting to hear from them, hence the curiousity!
  7. OMG! I would think that interviews gives a clear idea for both institution and applicants for being compatible with each other. Ranking lacks in so many ways! Good luck to you ERR_Alpha
  8. I keep my spam folder clean every day for this reason. And before deleting all I read through senders names like a hawk! But still no news for me though!
  9. Congrats pstar465 and elanoci! pstar465 I am still waiting to hear from their sister program molecular medicine!
  10. Hi somanyphage, I applied to BU PiBS too. What do you mean by "that's what was implied in the email"? I didn't receive any email from them as of yet.
  11. Einstein is rolling basis. That part for sure. Good luck!
  12. I never been to a graduate program interview, but i had been working in a major food company for few years now and went through few academic job interviews as well. I would say you need to dress up that question differently. Like, "What are your expectations from your graduate student?" Mentorship is something it builds up after working together as well; so frame your question more "bucketwise" so that at least you both are on same page. And then hopefully everything will go right. Thankfully I got a great mentor where I work, wish you good luck on that! I know how important getting right mentor, as that is one of my first priorities too.
  13. I saw a Loyola University, Chicago IPBS interview invitation post on 16th jan. Anyone here want to claim that probably. What are the interview dates you got for that program?
  14. I feel the same way about Boston PiBS. I did some research on last year's posts and found that in 2013, they sent out a lot of "waiting list" for the program in Jan through March but no rejection in that time period; at least not posted in gradcafe. But this year its only the interview invites or so far "the silent treatment" At this point I will be thrilled to hear any of the Universities (positive of course)! So far they all are zipped about responding on my application.
  15. Is anyone else exhausted waiting to hear something as me? Every single day I think this might be it! Quick update on Boston U PiBS, after emailing him, I got a reply from program director that, " We are in the process of evaluating approximately 500 applications. Those students who we feel will be a good fit for our program will be contacted to set uo interviews." The email didnt have any particular info about how many left or any timeline, except the number '500'
