Before I give up . . .
I was accepted to Columbia SPH, which was tremendously validating, but the 25% scholarship doesn't make it possible to go. It's a full-time program, so I would have to give up my income for at least several months; I can't afford to pay much tuition on top of that. As an older student, I'm not willing to take out a huge loan that I couldn't even pay off before retirement.
I've been looking for outside scholarships since October, but I can never find anything I qualify for. A coworker is urging me to make a personal appeal for more funding, but even if they raised it to 50%, I couldn't do it.
Does anyone have any advice? Am I overlooking any great ideas that might still give me a chance at attending? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
