  1. Anyone going to Syracuse SOE?
  2. Okay, so I was thinking about posting a similar question with an almost identical dilemma. I have been accepted to master's programs at TC and UPenn and a PhD at Syracuse. I'm studying Cultural Foundations of Education (primarily history of education) and I aspire to a PhD. Syracuse gave me full funding and a teaching assistantship, Penn gave me $5,000, and TC gave me nothing. I have decided to go to Syracuse, mostly because of the funding but also because I really like my advisor there. I'm just curious if I've made the right decision. I know job prospects are shaky, at best, but this is what I want to do with my life, of that much I'm sure. I just don't know how much weight the SU name will carry when I get out on the job market.
  3. Hey M26 - yeah, that was me. I just went with a button down shirt, a sports coat and chinos. I came to the city last night (stayed with a friend) and, of course, I forgot to pack my shoes, so I'm wearing my hiking boots - makes for a unique ensemble.
  4. Hey all - I'm going to the Preview Day in NYC tomorrow ad I have no idea what to wear. Any suggestions?
  5. I just got my acceptance to the master's in Politics & Education. Not sure what to do now - I have a tough decision to make.
  6. I applied to the PhD in Politics & Education but haven't heard anything back yet. I had similar experiences with their admissions staff, they haven't been the most helpful people in the world. Like others, I had great experiences with the UPenn staff, they were always willing to chat and answer my questions.
  7. PennGSE - Education, Culture, and Society M.Ed TC - Politics & Education Ph.D. Syracuse SOE - Cultural Foundations of Education Ph.D. (Accepted)
  8. I loved Penn. I'm a sucker for urban campuses. I also have to agree that Middlebury College is the quintessential New England college, I love that campus so much.
  9. I applied to the PennGSE ECS Ph.D. program but I didn't get accepted. However, I got a personalized email from the program director urging me to apply to the M.Ed. program. The email was personalized and referred to specifics from my personal statement, does anyone think that my acceptance to the M.Ed is a foregone conclusion? Or am I just being too optimistic.
