You really never know. Connecticut sent out a ton of rejections/waitlists before sending out any acceptances. Each school has their own method...

I'm liking how this thread was hijacked from "Oh crap, what's with my application status" to "When are we going to hear back?!" Haha.

Just checked the acceptances board and saw what I knew was your post (masters teaching, Longwood, etc.), and came directly here to congratulate you. Congratulations! Your patience has paid off, and you still have a bunch of schools to hear from!

Yep, and whether or not a school gives funding by way of scholarships, assistantships, etc., is a huge factor (a decision which often comes much later than the initial acceptance letter).

Wait, there are scholarships for being male?

GPA/GRE alone provide very little information -- it's all about the factors that you can't see, like the personal statement, research/work experience, publications, etc., that really sets an applicant apart. (IMO)

SLP2013, mind sharing a bit about the scholarship? Was it part of the email, or did you have to call the number provided there to find out?

Badgerina: can't you buy office through your university? Student copies are usually super cheap, or you get a massive student discount, etc.
