  1. I feel you guys, I am going through the same things too. I might hear from Radford next week because looking back at last year's results I think they will send out their results around Monday. But it is my last choice school so, while I want to get accepted to every school, if I get rejected I won't be too upset. March 15th is the date that I am looking forward to next because that is when I should really start hearing from my other schools. But it is so hard when people post their acceptances and how relieved they are and you are still in limbo. The cycling of emotions is just horrible, but I have to tell myself that it will be worth it and that I will get in eventually, if not this year. Keep your chin up everyone! (or at least try to, lol)
  2. Thanks that is very sweet of you! I am trying to stay positive because I know that many schools do go to their wait list and several people got accepted off the wait list at several schools last year according to the results page. Also, I could be looking at two rejections right now which would just be a joy killer. But I just want an official acceptance somewhere so I can have a big load off my shoulders. Luckily, I have a back up plan in case I do not get in anywhere but I am still hoping for the best! Five more schools to go with every school still an option, so there is still a lot to be hopeful for.
  3. Looks like I am in the same boat now too kcald since I got my second wait list. I may hear something from another school before that, but March 15 is the only date that I know for sure coming up. Everything will be on about that day or the week after. Good luck to everyone and congrats to everyone who has been accepted!
  4. I got my second wait list from Central Missouri. They updated my info saying I was a grad student for speech pathology for fall 2013 so I thought for sure that meant I was accepted. Oh well, the accepted have until March 15th, then they will pull off wait list. That second degree program at SIU-E is looking good now. I just want to bang my head against a wall
  5. Mystique- to my understanding colleges vary on what they consider "good" GRE scores. But from what I have seen from the schools that I looked at they want your combined v + q scores to be over 1000 when converted to the old scoring system, others want the combined score to be over 1100. Some schools don't care about the test either, as long as you get a score at or around the 50th percentile for each section. So it all just really depends but your scores compare to many of the accepted stats that I have seen posted the last few weeks so you should be fine.
  6. As long as you explained your low GPA I do not think it will be much of a problem. You have great GRE scores and the great LOR you have will help you out as well. I am an out of field Psychology major too and I think we are in a good position because having both psychology and speech pathology knowledge can be very helpful when it comes to some communication disorders like autism, tbi, and language disorders. I have heard of people majoring in economics and history that still get in to speech path. programs, so I think you should be fine. Good luck to you!
  7. I think you definitely have the right attitude about this, this is a sign that you are probably meant to move on to a different area that you will surely love. Good luck with the rest of your schools! And a quick congrats to everyone that has received acceptances the last few days!
  8. I would take it as a semi-good sign travel, at least that is how I am taking it. Looking at last year's results it seemed like many schools did pull off their wait list. Don't take it as a full rejection until you are told that you no longer have a chance. Also, you have several other schools that you can get accepted to as well, so I would not worry too much. Good luck!
  9. Well I thought it was going to be a calm week because I figured based on the results that were posted last year that I would receive nothing until next week at the earliest. Now I just looked and somebody has already posted a wait list for one of my top choice schools, so the decisions have been mailed out early. Eek! It's going to be a long few days...
  10. C'mon guys let's try to think positive! I know it's hard when people are posting acceptances and you have either heard nothing or have been flat out rejected by some schools, but negative thoughts have never helped anyone. Looking back at last year's results it seemed like most schools gave out notifications in March, and after that many were reported to be taken off wait lists and accepted. So let's all try to stay positive for the weeks ahead!
  11. I want to send a quick congratulations to everyone that received good news today! Even though I know that there is a good shot that I will not hear anything from any of my schools until March, I have still been checking my emails obsessively just in case a school makes its decision a little sooner than usual. It also didn't help that I received a large envelope in the mail that was nothing but some info on my 401k and an email that said in the header "Graduate Admissions", that was only about how graduate students at the school I got wait listed in are eligible for ROTC. March can't get here soon enough.
  12. Toothbrush, since it is a Skype interview, will they be seeing your whole body? I think a nice dress shirt and dress pants will be good. I wouldn't go out and spend money on a suit unless you know of other in-person interviews you may get invited to in the next few weeks.
  13. 1) Thank you, it is nice to see that somebody else that is out of field applied to some of the same schools that I did. Hopefully we will receive some good news! 2) Thanks to you too, I know that I should not be this worried, I think it is just the last minute nerves kicking in! Hopefully the next few weeks will bring good news.
  14. Hi everyone, I am a new member that just found this site last week and have been reading the results forum obsessively throughout the week. I thought I may as well crash the party and share my anxiety too. I am an out of field candidate that will graduate with a degree in Psychology this May. I had a hard time figuring out which career to pursue, but finally this summer I decided to take the plunge and go with my gut instinct of speech language pathology, even though it is a challenging enough program for somebody in field to get into, let alone somebody out of field like me. I was advised that since I already took a few CDS courses and got A's in them, and that my GPA was higher than 3.8 that I could try and get accepted into a program that allowed out of field candidates admission. I was hopeful last semester, but now the anxiety is kicking in big time. I got wait listed this Monday at NE-Omaha, and considering a made a mistake in their application, I took this as good news since I was for sure they would see my error and just throw my application away. But I am definitely having second thoughts about my decision to go ahead and apply without all my pre-reqs complete. My back up plan is to go to SIU- Edwardsville and get a second degree in CDS and start the whole application process again, and I REALLY don't want to have to go through all this again. But seeing other out of field candidates on here gives me hope that I am not the only out of field applicant out there like a feared I was I will not hear from my other schools until March, it's only a few weeks away but it seems like an eternity, which I am sure all of you already know. Good luck to everyone, you all seem like such great people and I am sure we will all be successful!
